Oh yes!
First question: should you be best friends with your SO? Or strictly a lover/ mistress? I heard that familiarity kills interest. I'm kind of conflicted on this one.

Second question: how to be fun around your SO without being crude and still be feminine? I grew up in environment where poking fun of each other was entertainment for family and sort of bonding even if it was too far. So I have no idea.

Third question: how do I genuinely know if its red flag or I am being too picky and dropping a good man?

I didn't date much in college or high school but in my senior year of college there was a guy that I liked and we liked spending time together watching TV and making out a bit. I used to go over to his house to hang out with him and his roommates and to watch TV or video games.

One day I decided to bake a pan of brownies for them from my grandma's recipe. I wanted to impress them and make them something tasty they would like. My good girl friend at the time really looked down on my gesture and made fun of me like "oh are you trying to be one of 'those' girls?" Like what I was doing was wrong or pathetic. It really made me feel bad and insecure and I didn't do anything like that again. The relationship fizzled out. That memory sticks with me even 7 years later.

What do you all think about girls cooking or baking for guys that they like? These days I LOVE cooking for my boyfriend and making him stuff that he likes. If he likes my food I feel so happy and close with him.

I heard a troubling story the other day and wanted to hear what RPW think.

A coworker shared with me that her long-time boyfriend told her that his friends thought the girlfriend he had before her was prettier and had a better body.

She said she froze up and didn't say anything. Eventually she gave him a letter explaining her feelings. He responded with a letter basically denying having said that and flipping it around on her, asking how she could believe that and he mentioned that she is beautiful inside and out but really elaborated on her inner qualities.

They have been together a long time (4 or 5 years?) and are in their mid 20s. She is shocked and hurt by this.

What do you all think? How would you handle the situation if you were her?

Personally, I think the "ideal" state for any relationship is to really get to know each other and really try to understand each other before having sex. That being said, that kind of circumstance is the exception rather than the rule.

There have been a few girls I've met in my life, I could not wait to talk to them next, I could not wait to hear the next thing that came out of their mouths. I genuinely enjoyed communicating with them and it only heightened our feelings for each other.
