This is tip of the iceberg stuff...and their reasoning is that the think the boys will be embarrassed if they do not look like all the other boys (who were previously mutilated). think about that mentality for a second.

Beyond that is the humiliation of exposing young boys to girls their own age, that they will have to face in school once they recover, not to mention the women mutilating them ( this male "doctor" is rather rare based upon what I've seen)

Second, it is not even a hospital of clinic, but basically a make-shift butcher shop where they clear a classroom, put sheets over the desks, with zero infection control beyond mask and gloves, strip the boys down, line them up, slap them on a desk, and start cutting them in groups of 20 or so, for a whole day, like cattle at a butcher shop, complete with puddles of blood on the floor.

it is completely unfathomable that a civilized society would partake in what is basically an female orgy of sexual mutilation of young boys. If there was ever a case of child abuse predicated upon sexist though, this is it, yet no one seems to notice...because it is only boys.

The reverse would be descended upon by virtually every health organization and every civilized country, yet this goes on without a whimper...the only sounds being the screams and crying of the victims.

First, a vaccine does not permanently alter one's body through the amputation of a body part.

Second, there is no viable evidence to support the "protection" statement. There is zero benefit and those often cited make a claim, but do not cite the probability, which is often .000001%, or negligible to the point of being moot.

In further contention, I could argue for forced mastectomies for all girls entering puberty, so as to "protect" them from breast cancer. I could argue for removal of the vulva because it can trap bacteria if not kept clean. I could argue for forced hysterectomies for women of a certain age so as to prevent the danger of ovarian cancer...but we don't. We don't even take out the appendix, a useless organ that actually causes far more problems for people than does the foreskin...which only causes issue in extremely rare cases.

the reason so many men are adamant, or seem extreme on this issue is because there is no, as in zero, research or any science that supports this practice, and of the top 20 medical authorities in the world, not a one supports it as a routine practice.

There is no argument for, yet we continue to have the same argument over and over and over.

As a circumcised male, why wouldn’t you want to be circumcised?

For a second, let's pretend there were zero downsides to it. Still, why would cutting off the foreskin of an infant, except where otherwise medically proper (e.g. phimosis) be acceptable? It is and should be a personal choice. The only two commonly cited upsides - penile cancer and STDs - are misleading at best. First, penile cancer is exceptionally rare, so mutilating men en masse to marginally reduce the risk of something very rare and easily treated if diagnosed early is insane. And as to HIV transmission, those studies are based on African countries with sky-high infection rates, terrible sexual hygiene practices, and dreadful sexual education. The use of condoms is far more effective. And to be frank, in the developed world most HIV transmission occurs through gay anal sex, which only a tiny minority of the population practices. Meanwhile, MGM (or circumcision as you term it) can lead to unnecessary medical error and/or death, harms penile function (lubrication of the head), and reduces orgasm quality (thousands of nerve endings in the foreskin are lost). Most guys who were mutilated pay it no thought, either because they don't know much about it, or because they realize they can't do anything about it. Like you, I was cut in infancy, and with the benefit of the knowledge I have as an adult, it is not a choice I'd have ever made if I could, and it should've been my choice to make.

Getting raped as a baby is a big step up then getting a mostly insignificant piece of you dick skin cut. If that were to happen there would most likely be lasting physical damage with sever consequences. However getting your dick cut, while it is something that doesnt come back is much less brutal. If someone cuts off your finger and you dont remember it, you dont have that finger. If someone cuts off a small part of your dick, that matters much less, your dick still works.

Those “benefits” have become a sort of “flavor of the decade.” Circumcision has been called a cure or treatment for many things. None of which have been true. The whole practice was started in the US to stop masturbation. Nothing else. Since then, the private -for profit- medical industry in the US and abroad has been trying to justify it for decades so they can keep getting insurance payments.

Cancer is the result of DNA that could not repair itself, appendicitis is the result of bad diet, Wisdom teeth are the results of the human body adapting to new life styles which do not require them.

Congratulations 🎉 you’ve identified reasons why the human body is not perfect! The solution is not to go cutting off precarious organs and appendages on non-consenting persons. You do not have that right.

Taken out of context yes. But the roots of circumcision in America (the only developed nation which still practices circumcision routinely) were to repress sexuality during the Victorian era. You cannot deny that.

The whole argument used by you and others against the for-profit medical industry never takes into account that they make much less money from preventative treatments. They make much more keeping you in a hospital for a week for a uti or bladder infection.

Of course it does. Do you think UTIs or bladder infections are limited to intact men? What if I told you that in the US, statistically speaking, more circumcised men have those issues than intact men?

Circumcision at the hospital gives them an initial paycheck on top of all the other penis related medical conditions that those same people are going to come back later for to get treated. Especially erectile dysfunction.

The conditions I mentioned all involve invasive procedures to remove parts of the body as part of their cure/treatment. Most of the risks for them all come from the risk of infection through the incision. They are still done because the benefits outweigh the risks.

Sure, but they are all done on an as needed basis as treatment. Not as preventative measures. For example, we used to routinely remove tonsils. We stopped doing that because preventative surgery is not medicine and it was realized that its far more beneficial to make treatment on a case by case basis. That logic holds true for all developed nations that do not circumcise (aka all of them except the US).

Oh, and btw. I hope you don’t believe that circumcision can prevent sexually transmitted diseases from spreading. If that were true, the United States wouldn’t be a world leader in transmission rates while every other developed country doesn’t circumcise and has significantly lower rates 🤣

This normalization is especially shocking in the Philippines. Politicians sponsor "libreng tuli" free circumcision drives with their faces plastered on promotional material, hospitals routinely cut foreskins most of the time without asking the parents because they understand that it's what they want anyway, the rite of passage that every thirteen year old boy has to go through being ridiculed before, during and even after circumcision, and the blatant voices of women who believe that a cut penis is a clean one overrides any logic. All of this without mentioning the Catholic Church labeling any uncircumcised child as an infidel who won't be able to enter heaven. Everyone has circumcision horror stories but we all just shrug it off as a fact of life. We talk about the different kinds of cuts, as if it were a fashion choice or a source of masculine pride to have the most extreme cut. I live with this disgusting fact everyday and I wish I had a choice all the time.

I came from Philippines and circumcised myself. Its part of our culture that boys around ages 10 or 11 to get circumcised its not that anyone is forcing us, its just how it is and i have no problems with it at all, but i do agree that the girl in the photo shouldn't be there

I dont know how it is done in the US but yes everyone does talk about circumcision with high regards, but I know for a fact that there are many ways that circumcision is performed in the Philippines.

Plus as childish as it sounds after everything is done those same boys in that picture will talk about it like its nothing, even bragging to everyone, boys and girls how much it hurts, i guess we're just weird people lol
