honestly, i hate the double standard where how if it was him hitting her, his entire life would be turned upside down (jail time, fired from job, social lynching, etc.), but i don't think she (or a man in her place) should spend serious jail time or face any serious repercussions for a first time offense

if she gets off with a light punishment this time, i'd be okay with it - i just want the same standard applied to men

of course this is all assuming the assault actually happened and she really is guilty, which may or may not be the case
