Wow, this is ridiculous, and at 12 years old, the kid would likely be in 6th grade, not high school. This story flashed me back to when I was in elementary school. My 5th grade classroom was arranged so that the teacher stood in the middle of the room, and half of the desks were on one side and half on the other side, facing eachother. A game started between members of the green side of the class and the blue side (the class was divided into two “teams”, which likely encouraged the competition) where the students directly across from eachother would have a stare game, and the first one to blink had to put their head down until the teacher told them to sit up. Drove the instructor mad. There was never any agreement beforehand to engage in the game, it was just an inevitable evolution of a situation where young children sitting on opposite sides of a room were forced to stare st the same thing for 6 hours a day. At that age, I had no concept of gender or power dynamics, and I can’t even imagine how many times I glared at someone, girls included, hoping they would catch my gaze and try not to blink first.
And just because the kid didn’t have malintentions doesn’t mean we can’t use this as a learning lesson. If the girl feels intimidated, explain to the boy that people don’t always understand your what you’re thinking, and that it’s often considered socially unacceptable to stare at others unannounced, as they don’t know why you are doing it. You could possibly even help him understand that boys are often bigger than girls, and that what might not intimidate him might be intimidating to someone smaller than him. Also use it as a lesson to help give that girl a voice, and maybe encourage her to explain to the boy how she feels, and maybe also help show her that the boy was playing, and that not everybody in this world is driven by ill motives (which by the looks of it, is something she probably has picked up from her parents).
But no, we go straight To Kill a Mockingbird on that young boy. Reinforce to him the notion that a a black male he is scary and worthy of fear. That a white womens feelings matter more than his existance within society. God forbid than young blacky invade her personal airspace with his hostile line of sight. And people need to stop acting like this line of thought being pushed by the left is something new. It’s not. It’s just a different version of the same old tune, packaged as progressivism. The scenario of the white girl making dangerous claims against the black boy, with the black boy being quickly and harshly punished without even pausing to consider the truth of the white girls word is a situation as old as the US itself. I thought To Kill a Mockingbird was and has been required reading. I guess nobody pays attention. These people aren’t progressive, they’re just another generation of scared fools punishing the “others” who dare to be born different than them.
Only the dumbest neanderthal will end up flirting for fear of backlash, but that type is the most likely to actually harass, and thus a giant downward spiral is created of harsher and harsher law.

I'm sorry they did that to you. Have you considered tracking them all down and filing complaints with their employers? #TimesUp
