Who has a wedding mid day on a Monday?

[–]hundreddollar 106 points107 points108 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

People who don't have a lot of money?

[–]11teensteve 53 points54 points55 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

shes gonna have a lot less now.

[–]atlastrabeler 37 points38 points39 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

A real case of the mondays. She was practically asking for this.

Their first obstacle of the marriage! He'll probably be driving her around for the next 90 days atleast.

[–]Never_Kn0ws_Best 10 points11 points12 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Injury dui in Arizona...she going to jail I bet.

[–]CommondeNominator 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Says she was released to her fiancé with a criminal citation. Wouldn’t they take her to jail right away if that were the case?

[–]IAmMadeOfNope 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's usually reserved for people who might skedaddle, bail is supposed to keep you around for your trial

(You get the money back as long as you show up)

A majority of the time you can be released on your own recognizance. The court system doesn't wanna deal with you either.

[–]fischestix 8 points9 points10 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

People who drive to it themselves drunk.

[–]beatles910 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The article never stated that she was "drunk." Under the influence and drunk are two different things.

[–]Curthurley 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I agree w you. Sadly the law doesnt. Imo big difference when someone is driving at .08 versus someone driving 2 or 3 times the legal limit.

[–]nels5104 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think they were referring to drugs and not alcohol.

[–]BKRG 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

This is Marana we are talking about. I live in Tucson the city over. Not surprised by this at all.

[–]meetmybryson 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I'm from Canada. I don't even know what that means.

[–]everydaylowvices 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Same here. Just play along...

Ah, classic marana debauchery! Tucson 4 life!

[–]ChiefGief 87 points88 points89 points 8 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

God damn. Way to ruin the happiest day of your life. This sucks.

[–][deleted] 26 points27 points28 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Don't worry, she will for sure have a second chance

[–]HurricaneSandyHook 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I know in this case they released her, but it would be pretty funny if she had to appear before a judge and then asked the judge to perform the nuptials.

[–]300C 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Happiest day of her life! I rarely ever meet men who are ecstatic about being married the way women are. I think its because women get much more out of the arrangement than most men do. That would make sense of why they are the ones always pushing for marriage/commitment

[–]RaymondLuxuryYacht 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Driving to your own wedding. Drinking before the wedding. Wedding on a Monday.

This is a grade-A piece of white trash, folks.

[–]wf3h3 56 points57 points58 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Renting limos and having weddings on the weekend are more expensive. Drink-driving is trashy, but not having a lot of money is not.

[–]CoolingtonBeans 63 points64 points65 points 8 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Driving to your own wedding is white trashy? What kinda fancy pants life do you live

[–]Galaxine1 points 8 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

I drove myself to mine until I almost ran over a squirrel. I then panicked and my sister made me get in the passenger seat. Nerves are why you don't drive yourself.

[–]Turtle08atwork 12 points13 points14 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Hey man, squirrels have a death wish. That is not on you.

[–]karmckyle 17 points18 points19 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Right? Like, sorry my fairy godmother didn't turn a pumpkin into a dope chariot for me brah

[–]eminencefront 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

When you look at the cost of a modern, middle-class wedding, limo rental is a drop in the bucket.

[–]CoolingtonBeans 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Why did you rewrite that comment when the other one was deleted at -24?

[+]eminencefront1 points 8 years ago [recovered] (3 children) | Copy Link

No one drives to their wedding. This is just weird.

[–]the_unseen_one 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Why do so many people give a fuck about getting married on a monday?

[–]UniqueCoverings 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Who drives themselves to their own wedding?

[–]BlackBoxInquiry 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Keeping it classy. Real. Classy.

[–]Metalageddon 13 points14 points15 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

So... What's worse?

  • knowing she was drunk for the wedding
  • knowing she's the type to drive drunk
  • knowing she has so few friends no one could drive her to her own wedding

None of these look good.

[–]Stoic_Stranger 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

At 1030 am no less.

[–]Metalageddon 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]joedevice1 points 8 years ago [recovered] (27 children) | Copy Link

How is this PPD?

[–]tothecatmobile1 points 8 years ago [recovered] (16 children) | Copy Link

Didn't you get the memo?

This sub is just "bad shit done by a woman" now.

[–]cycophuk1 points 8 years ago [recovered] (15 children) | Copy Link

This sub has been like that for a while now. You see a lot of stuff posted here that is more "let's hate women" than seeing a smug woman getting her comeuppance.

[–]Sparkmovement1 points 8 years ago [recovered] (14 children) | Copy Link

Interesting this seemed to happen after /r/incels was shut down.

[–]ScuzzleButte1 points 8 years ago [recovered] (13 children) | Copy Link

r/incels spread out to destroy a lot of subs after the shut down. I wish Reddit would have just left them in their pathetic little corner.

[–]Sparkmovement1 points 8 years ago [recovered] (12 children) | Copy Link

Almost as if children will do childish things... Quite pathetic they didn't get see the writing on the wall when their safe space got shut down.

[–]Kryptosis1 points 8 years ago [recovered] (11 children) | Copy Link

What is this even supposed to mean? You think they're just going to change their opinions because their safe space got shut down? When will people understand how the Streisand effect permeates every aspect of life?

[–]Sparkmovement1 points 8 years ago [recovered] (10 children) | Copy Link

It's supposed to mean that seeing that the world thinks they are pathetic didnt change their way of thinking... In fact, I'm sure with many... It made them believe even stronger in the horrible midnset they have.

[–]Kryptosis1 points 8 years ago [recovered] (7 children) | Copy Link

You're right about that. The majority of people in America used to think black people were pathetic and women and all sorts. Why would any trust in the judgement of "the majority".

[–]Sparkmovement1 points 8 years ago [recovered] (6 children) | Copy Link

You trying to defend them is falling on deaf ears. At this point the only people I feel that would even try to defend them is someone who was in that community. But what is interesting, Is the fact that your saying in 50 years we will all look back and say "I guess we were wrong about them?"... I don't share your sentiments.

[–]nct57 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Why would you change your thinking because people thinks you are pathetic? That is pathetic thinking. People change their thinking when someone shows them they are wrong.

[–]nct57 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Because it's rare for a woman to be held responsible for their actions.

[–]necktits_Not a Sex Offender -2 points-1 points0 points 8 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

I god damn guarantee you that her gender contributed to her making this decision. Definitely thought that her wedding dress would help too. I'd love to see her interaction with the police, because I'm pretty certain that from the time she woke up to the time she was arrested she attempted at least one pussy pass

[–]joedevice1 points 8 years ago [recovered] (7 children) | Copy Link

So you're guessing?

[–]ScuzzleButte1 points 8 years ago [recovered] (6 children) | Copy Link

I bet he's an r/incel, so he's projecting. I'm just guessing on that though.

[–]Kryptosis 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

What's up with you all over the place accusing people of being incels?

[–]ScuzzleButte1 points 8 years ago [recovered] (4 children) | Copy Link

Cause I've spotted quite a few, so I'll point them out when I think I see them

[–]Kryptosis 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Lol your gonna call out ever involuntarily celibate person you can find? What a noble crusade rofl

[–]ScuzzleButte1 points 8 years ago [recovered] (2 children) | Copy Link

What do you care ?

[–]Kryptosis 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I don't really. It's just kinda sad to attack ugly people when they already have it so bad don't you think?

[–]Stoic_Stranger 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That drunk by 1030 am?

she didn't attempt to get out of anything by being a woman how can a pussy pass be denied if she never even reached for it

[–]mrwhibbley 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm certainly not defending a DUI but this is heart breaking seeing someone that may have been celebrating too much not be able to enjoy a special day. They need to be held responsible, but it just stinks that this happened. Poor decision making

[–]bobbilly691 points 8 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

How is this anything to do with PPD? I thought PPD was women using the fact they are women to get away with things, not just women being idiots.

[–]necktits_Not a Sex Offender 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Eh, where else am I gonna read a gold article like this? It's close enough

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

would you marry someone with a dui?

[–]violetdaze 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

First time the jail intake strip searched someone in bridal collection lingerie.

[+][deleted] -9 points-8 points-7 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

That's just horrible. I hope I'm not alone on this sub when I say that if I had a friend or even a work colleague I didn't like that I heard was driving themselves to their own wedding I wouldn't hesitate to volunteer to be their driver. It's no wonder she had a few drinks. If I were the police officer I wouldn't have it in me to arrest her although I would drive her to her wedding - in the back seat as it always should have been.

[–]kozz333 14 points15 points16 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Nope, fuck her, she caused a 3 vehicle crash because she valued her drinking over everyone else's life on the road.

There is zero excuse for drink driving.

[+][deleted] -7 points-6 points-5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Sure but drink driving is one of those things where women don't have an advantage over men. With a speeding fine the police can show discretion and that favours women more than men. If you register an illegal percentage of alcohol in your blood the police will arrest you just about every time. Having said that weddings are something that women are conditioned to believe has a greater importance than weddings should be afforded. Most societal biases and conditioning fuck men over but when it comes to things like sensible shoes and weddings we come out on top. If I were the arresting officer I would have arrested her, stopped the car a couple of blocks down and taken her handcuffs off and driven her to the wedding. I'd of course taken her to the station to be charged after the ceremony but I don't see this as a pussy pass denied situation. Drink driving is a crime where police have very little discretion and I'd no more ruin her day than I would take a man to the station if he was on the way to a funeral.

The judge is the one that should decide her punishment and I couldn't see any fair minded judge sentencing someone to missing their wedding. The judge would have their chance to pass sentence if the arresting officer did it the way I would and I'm sure that sentence would reflect the danger she put the public in.

[–]vostok-Abdullah 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If I were the police officer I wouldn't have it in me to arrest her

This is EXACTLY why they need to be arrested and shamed. It sets a good example and sends a message to the general public: Respect the law above your personal freedom or happiness
