What the hell?

The American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers recently noted that 56% of divorce lawyers surveyed reported an increase in the number of women making alimony payments to their ex-husbands. That's no surprise given that the traditional role of stay-at-home mom has changed and more women are becoming the top wage earner in their households.

While times have changed, the outdated laws governing alimony haven't.

It was OK when it was men being put through the grinder, but now that it's women "times have changed and the laws are outdated"?

disgusting, there are 1000 times more men paying this kind of disgraceful alimony and hardly any news about reform for that. now a woman points how how stupid and devastating it is and suddenly the state is going to care.

that is the misandry of our culture in yet another nutshell.

of course it needs to change, lets hope this helps make that happen but always in the history books will be the misandry of the government and legal system that ignored the same plight of men.

Much like labour laws that only got changed when then-current working conditions disadvantaged women, child support and alimony laws will only be changed when they disadvantage sufficient women.

It seems like the only way to get fucked up things fixed in society is make it so that a woman somewhere is inconvenienced by it. Let's get some women coal miners down in the shafts, maybe there'll be some improvements in mine owners following safety regulations.

Its important to understand women are not a single entity woman who complain about alimony are just as agreived and correct as men paying alimoney.

unless they have recieved it in the past, what transactions have occured to other people is no reflection of their circumstances.

if a woman is complaining about unfair alimony its massively unjust and unfair to discount it because other people who just share her gender receive it.

Alimony isn't based on gender its based on financial position, if you disagree with alimony then then women complaining about it are your allies and just as unfairly treated as men.
