Oh, I've been there. My ex accused me of financial abuse, in therapy, because I did not buy her the $130k car she wanted. Instead, I had only purchased a brand new, completely loaded, Honda Pilot..........and that was abuse.

My wife pursued me for YEARS… absolutely would not unwrap herself from my leg, me telling her “I like you, but I don’t want marriage or children in this life”. That just made her more determined. Her family, my family and most of our friends all took her side, of course and put the pressure on. Eventually after enough promises, guarantees, deal making, etc. my dumb ass gave in. 19 years later and 2 kids still in elementary school and I ask myself every day why I gave in. Promises..? Guarantees..? 😂 After the second kid, her personality did a 180 (menopause and other issues) and the last several years has been Hell on earth.. all for me sacrificing my entire life thinking she’d appreciate it forever. 😆 Fucking sucker.. Young dudes, DON’T fall for the negotiations. It’s all bullshit. Could’ve traveled the world and lived on the beach.. but nope. My entire circle duped me.

Wild how we all lived the same life.

She decided that she wanted to return to her parents' way of life which was a very specific rejection of myself and our children. In January 2025, she asked for a divorce. We were separated under the same roof. I opened solo accounts to pay the household bills/kids' expenses and removed her as an authorized user from my credit cards. All of a sudden, "you would make the mother of your children destitute? I gave you six kids."

Two months later, she turns up pregnant with her affair partner's baby. I took the day off and, while she was at work, I packed her shit up and put all of it in the basement. Told her to use the basement entrance to come and go until further notice. I bought her out, she eventually took off and has been living on her parents' farm with the new guy and her daughter since then. My kids continue to be heartbroken.

My son is going thru this bullshit right now. She hit him with an RO for abuse and violence that didn't exist. She violated him because he forwarded an email to her with a past due bill in her name. I'm currently sitting outside corrections waiting for him to be released.

First time some women hear “no” can be a jarring experience for everyone involved.

I usually try to avoid the whole redpill/manosphere talking points (not out of moral reasons, I just feel like even if they’re right, it’s a sad worldview to live in), but their whole thing about “telling a woman no often from the beginning of the relationship is better for all parties involved” seems more and more an accurate statement.
