Depends on your location. My state checks are fine. You could get custom ones with a picture of you and your new girlfriend as the background if you want to dial up the petty 🤪

Try to send it to the state. This way all payments are recorded. When I was paying my ex mom support via check she once lied to the court and said I didn't pay her. I had to file a Motion for Satisfaction of Judgment. So, I had to do all that shit just to prove she lied. She admitted in court and said "she forgot." Oh, yeah. You really forgot alright even though I have a copy of the cashed check.

Once it goes through the state you can just ignore her.

Don't pay anything. Simply book a flight abroad to many of the wonderful destinations in other countries and reestablish your life there. Just make sure you go to a country that doesn't enforce foreign child support/alimony payments.

Your state will,typically have a service you send the payment to and then they send it to your ex.

I set my bank to automatically mail a physical check each month. You put start and stop dates. Figured I’d have canceled checks as proof, I didn’t have to think about her crap writing the check myself, and I could blame the bank if she didn’t get it on time. Win

Utilize your state’s department of revenue. Once set up, it won’t change without a court order.

If you have your employer direct deposit that's ideal and stable. You can also set up a personal bill pay from your bank. You get documentation either way. I'm in thr middle of this BS and use my bank to make a scheduled direct transfer to our joint account (only she uses) and another the mortgage (which I don't trust her to pay). I get a hard copy of funds being send and received.

This is for my court ordered temporary support. I fortunately won't have to pay spousal support when this is all over (giving her a lump sum in lieu of alimony once the house sells).

The payment method should be agreed to and spelled out in the divorce settlement. As per our settlement agreement, I pay my ex her alimony by wire transfer the first of every month.
