Long time lurker and a first time poster. Been married 9 years soon to be 10 years this summer. No kids. I quit drinking about five years ago and it completely changed my life for the better. Yes, I miss the social aspect, but I love how clear I think and how health I am and how comfortable in my own skin I am now. One huge caveat is that my wife still drinks and likes to go out on the weekends - it’s gotten to a point where it’s a big thorn in our marriage. I feel distant and feel like I’m second fiddle to her friends and then her partying.

Been contemplating divorce - I love her and there’s been a lot of great things we’ve shared and accomplished but I’m feeling distant as well as continuing to hold onto a “past life.” One that doesn’t suit me anymore.

Am I being immature or reckless to want to divorce because of the drinking thing? She doesn’t get violent or verbally abusive. Doesn’t cheat - or so I think. Just feels like we are roommates and that she’d rather spend time with her friends.

Any advice or insight would be appreciated.
