So, as I shared earlier this week, I went on my first post-separation date. I had low expectations going into it, and I was not disappointed. 😄

She was a real person, and reasonably attractive, but kind of had an annoying voice. I could tell by her accent that she wasn’t originally from the U.S., not that it matters. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The thing she kept talking the most about was how excited she was about her upcoming girls’ trip to Vegas. Which is fine, but kind of signaled to me that she wasn’t really ready or interested in settling down.

I brought her an $8 bottle of wine from TJ’s. Her profile mentioned wine, but when I gave it to her, she said she preferred white (it was a red). She’ll probably re-gift it or take it to another friend’s party. Whatever.

I don’t regret going, and I know it’s a 50/50 crapshoot on finding “chemistry.” I’ve been out of “the game” for a while, and knew I’d be a little rusty. The most telling gesture is I got a hug at the beginning, but not at the end. She just kind of waved and walked away. But my kidneys are still intact, so I’ll count that as a win. 😄
