As others said, don't talk to her lawyer, talk to your lawyer and make him communicate with her lawyer. In fact, him contacting you directly when you have representation is a serious violation of the rules of professional conduct. If you don't have representation, this is the first thing you need to fix.

I had Facebook mainly to communicate with my many in laws and common friends, who live in southeast Asia.

After she left, they started posting pics and videos of her with her new boyfriend. It broke my heart.

I canceled Facebook and haven't heard from any of them in years.

Don't talk to your ex's lawyer, period. Talk to your own lawyer. Take advice from your lawyer, not hers.

Why are you doing that? The only people who care already know the entire story I am sure. The other people on social media don't. The only thing posting the drama does is give these other people gossip to talk about.

The reason why you are not supposed to do this is that it can be considered an attack on character / slander. Which in turn can be used against you. If she can prove that this somehow caused her problems in life, she could sue you for reparations. Even if the chances are tiny, it's not worth posting trash about people on public forums. Especially during a divorce proceeding.

When things started to go downhill I wiped out ALL social media except Reddit. But even then I made a new account that no one knew (and still don't). Essentially removing any temptation to lash out, or see things I didn't want to see. It lifted a lot of stress.

Listen to the lawyer on this one not because you're wrong, but because anything you post can and will be used against you in proceedings, even if it's factually accurate. The short term satisfaction of venting publicly isn't worth handing her legal ammunition.

I did the same thing after mine cheated. My lawyer actually advised that I take them down until after the divorce was final. It was just ammunition for my ex to use. None of the information on the post was false or inappropriate. It basically could be considered abuse is the way it was explained to me.

I work with a lot of guys and forgive me for being blunt here but sometimes it is what is needed- Nobody Cares.

Nobody cares if she was terrible, Nobody wants to see their friend or family member dragged through the mud, and nobody wants to make it their business. The same way you do not want hear about the family down the street. Everybody has their own problems, and when you broadcast your dirty laundry, it is clear to everyone that you have lost it. You become the problem. You will get cut out. You will look crazy in front of the judge.

Delete it, turn off social medial, and go get a beer with a friend.

Tell your lawyer to obtain a concession of some sort from your wife in order to stop your posting.

Where is your lawyer in all this ?

You are free to do what you want as long as you don’t call out her name.

Calling her out now on social media may cause you more harm in your divorce proceedings. She will scorch the earth to prove you were the problem and make the divorce proceedings harder.

Smarter move is - stay off social media - get the divorce over with in your favour , stay calm and navigate thru it.

Once done then you can post what you want - without her name of course -

I did that - went thru mine - stayed quiet and then wrote a book about it once it was over.
