Women are addicted to counseling and therapy because it's someone that listens to their problems and provides no solution. Basically a good female friend for them.

Where for men we want actual tangible solutions to problems. Not just talk talk talk about the issue until you feel better.

If you're at the stage where your wife is asking for counseling, you're probably too late. She's moved on and she wants someone to listen to her.

it's a money pit

there are books that actually provide insights and solutions that are worth reading instead.

"5 minute relationship repair" was a book i wish i had read earlier,.. ex refused to read it though saying our problems are not solved in 5 minutes.. completely negating the whole premise of the book

the 5 love languages was a good solid read too.

but a lot of the solutions means both sides realizing something has to change and unfortunately my ex was firmly in the camp of "i don't do anything wrong, it's all you"

Went to go see a marriage counselor three times, then we stopped. Mainly because he kept agreeing with me and not her. She called him a quack.

We went a few times and I thought it was going well. Once I found out she was lying to both of us about her "friend" from work we didn't go back
