She cant BY LAW just get everything, may i ask why you are divorcing? yes, it plays into my view of this.

Divorce proceedings are like being in a bad traffic intersection. The longer you stay in it the more likely you will be harmed.

Many times concessions or efforts to appease just prolong the process because they think they will get even more down the road.

Delay in resolution many times benefits the ex and hurts you.

Don’t ever offer more than 50-50, stop negotiating and set the matter for trial at the earliest date you can get. Most cases do settle especially when the trial date is looming.

Are you representing yourself? Why’d you show up? I just know in my own case I was told not to show up for the prelims. My ex pulled a ‘you’ and showed up too. I was told that judges HATE clients that show up for the prelims.

Don’t give her the house make her buy you out. I know a lot of dudes give their ex the house like it’s some sort of peace offering. Just split the value 50/50. File motion to force mediation.

If she isn’t negotiating then set a trial date. The anxiety of an impending trial does wonders to focus the mind on negotiations.

While you keep financing her life. That’s the ploy. Ask for $$$k for penalty for failure to negotiate in a timely fashion.

Yes it’s hard . But I stay prayed up to keep me moving. But her actions sometimes drive me not understanding together 18yrs . Now this person acts like I don’t exist anymore.

This is a business transaction, let the lawyers hash it out. Know what your rights are, know what you want out of it, and have your lawyer negotiate the best fair deal (if men can get one) possible. If it's not worth it, don't fight over it.

Sorry you are going through the drama and BS. Her actions are not that atypical. Most women that file for divorce have been thinking about it for months, sometimes years. And once they pull the plug, they just want you gone, to keep their current life and lifestyle, have you pay for everything, and then start their new journey of self-discovery.

Try not to take it personally. If mediation is coming up, just prepare all needed documents, plan with your attorney, and grey rock her as best as able.

You are not the first and won't be the last, man to go through this. This group can be a great resource. The bleeding will stop. Until then take care of yourself: diet and exercise, friends and family, stay busy.
