I disagree. I find men take for granted the effort women place on their appearance.

So you may think that this woman holds the same “attractiveness” as you but in reality you likely don’t put half as much effort into your appearance.

I’ve never seen a man walk into my laser hair clinic for a Brazilian appointment, for example.

But if you got to /r/gonewild you’ll see that hairlessness of armpits and genitals is the expected norm, which women visually live up to.

Men do not put nearly as much effort into catering to the female gaze. Men don’t get pedicures despite having larger feet, and they don’t get their eyebrows waxed despite having bushier eyebrows.

That, and the rates of sexual satisfaction are abysmal between men and women in heteronormative dynamics.

Women are far less likely to orgasm or enjoy casual sex, so why would they “settle” when they’re likely not going to get any pleasure from it in the first place?

To be sure, many women have sex under less than ideal conditions and that likely affects desire. But I am still convinced, based on the evidence I've read, that there are fundamental biological differences between men and women, and while there is a lot of individual variation, the difference in testosterone levels alone would dictate that on average women would not be as motivated by sex as the average man. (A quick look at stats about gay and lesbian relationships, respectively, does much to support this). Which of course doesn't mean that women don't desire sex or that they don't deserve to have their needs met by their partners and have great sex. I just think the motivation to put sex above other priorities is on average lower in women - for biological reasons that do not condone sexism in any way.
