Hey, improving your looks is always a nice thing, who wouldn't want to feel confident about themselves?

My problem with lookmax however is that the environment is super toxic, guys will roast other guys for any minor flaws. Instead of cultivating environment of guys lifting up other guys on bettering themselves physically, my impression of those people was if you don't have flawless cheekbone and skin with 8% body fat you're thrash.

my second problem with lookmax was the idea that the only requirement for you to get girls, hot girls is good looks. It's true having good looks give u better dating option, but to go to that extent that nothing else matters really a bad mindset. Maybe someone else can elaborate.

My take is , improve your looks , go to the gym, dress better , take care of your skin and hair. Beyond that don't stress about it

It is natural to groom yourself, to workout, get a good haircut, be fashionable, wear cologne etc when dating. You are trying to impress. It is however not healthy to do the extreme side of looksmaxing, like obsessing over bone placement, considering breaking your legs repeatedly to be taller, etc. It is wonderful to be a healthy man who takes care of himself, is fit and with good style and goes out to meet women. Just try out that before you get extreme. It’s natural

I think attempting to look your best is what everyone does, or ought to, when they're looking to date. "Looksmaxxing" is weird incel lingo that, as usual, quantifies and pathologizes a normal aspect of the human experience.

The problem with this is that not everyone is attracted to the same thing. This ideal masculinity I see on redpill videos is often the same cookie cutter look we've all seen before. The problem is if you're conventionally attractive, you're conventionally attractive. You become more attractive on average and lot less attractive to a lot of people too. Allowing yourself to break the mold increases your chances with people who would actually stick around. Allow yourself to have "weird" hobbies. Allow yourself to wear your hair in the way YOU like it. Dress in the clothes YOU like. When you allow yourself to be yourself you are no longer anxiously scrambling to hide behind the facade of "man" and instead you live as yourself.

The only general advice that makes sense to me is the importance of hygiene. Find a deodorant that smells nice and stick with it. Everyone likes nice smells.

Take it from a 45 year old woman with A LOT of world experience. Women go for confidence, personality, and a sense of humor. Of course looks matter. However, every woman is different in what she likes. Example: I'm usually not attracted to blondes at all. I LOVE dark hair. I was just watching Seinfeld reruns on YouTube today. Look at George...one of the leading characters. He is short, bald, and stocky. Yet, he's been happily married for almost 40 years, has two kids, and is successful in every area of life.

“Looksmax”…..using the terms is doing you no favors for moving on.

Online dating isn’t brutal to most guys, it is brutal to guys that expect to date out of their league and guys that are doing a few things wrong on profiles. I do just fine online, but I don’t swipe on models or princesses, nor do I expect them to swipe on me. I swipe on women that appear to be my equal and it works fine.

Yes, you should look, smell, and dress the best you can. Yes, you should be as healthy and fit as you reasonably can, for yourself if no one else.

To me a guy who spends more time on his looks than I do is a turn off. I don’t care how conventionally attractive he is or isn’t. What I’ve noticed is the redpill guys into looksmaxxing have a very distorted or just false view of how women think, and how attraction works. They think if they get XYZ features it will get them laid. While it is true that some people have really bad facial development bordering on deformity, most people are average and still have no problem finding mates. Personally I find the hypermasculine Chad abhorrent, and even moreso if someone is faking It with jaw fillers or overzealous gum chewing. Because they always have an answer, the RP guys would explain my away my lack of interest in Chad as me being poisoned by feminism and birth control (I’m trans but they don’t know that).

Anyways, in a nutshell the dichotomy of be a Chad or have lots of money is a false one.

i mean i think its a pretty basic principle. plus you will just feel all around better about yourself. if you take pride in your appearance you will feel better about yourself as youre treating your body and presentation with care. working out, having clothes that fit you well, a nice hair cut, grooming/oral care (beyond basic hygiene, ask any woman and theyll tell you nothing is better then a guy who smells amazing or has nice white teeth) it all helps to enhance your presentation. I know i feel more confident talking to people, especially women, when i feel im looking my best and that confidence helps to boost youre already improved image, it all compounds. if you know you look bad/not put together your body language will reflect that and people respond in kind. its one part of a bigger picture, its an "individual stat" that can improve upon a baseline and raise other "stats" in response. but definitely ditch the phrase looksmaxing, the negative associations from society wont help and will work against your goals.

Totally for it! Looksmaxxing, brainmaxxing, mentalhealthmaxxing, etc.

I do not care what it is called, but generally striving to be the best version of yourself is a good thing to do. Looksmaxxing is just a part of it.

Average-looking people actually have the most partners to choose from. People are less likely to approach someone who they view as being more attractive than them, and generally everyone rates themselves as less attractive than people who are rated the same attractiveness level as everyone else. Additionally, people with average features are more likely to appeal to the general population at large, while people with features that stand out (think Angelina Jolie), people are likely either find exceptionally beautiful or exceptionally ugly, with no consensus.

If you truly want to "looksmax" to have the have the largest selection of partners, you should try to be mildly attractive.

From a personal, womanly perspective, I can't say many of us are into bodybuilders. What we really desire is someone who looks like they could both ravish and protect us. This comes in many forms. Tall or strong or even husky, as long as you don't look so out of shape that exercise would make you die of exhaustion. We just want someone who's bigger than us. If all else fails, hit on some short women.
