I comment in there often. It's absolutely dire. Keep away. The guys are pretending to be red pillers but are incels in disguise. Most are neurodivergent and have possible mental health issues.

The mods are probably incels also as their sub rules lean heavily towards allowing full on misogyny yet as soon as someone gives a tongue in cheek answer they delete the comment telling the poster to "be civil"

There's nothing new about the sub after you've read one or two posts. Everything is a recurring theme of talking points from men who are paralyzed by fear of failure and anxiety who have hardly spoken to a woman, yet tout themselves as 'alpha'

It's still better than subs like AllPillDebate

The mods are so incredibly biased towards the red pill/black pill shit. They let them get away with anything. Thats what I dont like, besides the extreme lack of insight from a lot of users.

I have personal experience with some users and it was TRASH.

Though perhaps the subreddit may have started with noble intentions, reddit isn't actually a great for that sort of discussion.

Like if you assume you have 100 people in the subreddit with a ratio of 60 who are pro-Skub and 40 who are anti-Skub (see here). if someone makes a pro-Skub comment it will end up with net 20 upvotes, and an anti-Skub comment will end up with a net 20 downvotes. You'd also expect a similar spread of negative replies. So over time anti-Skub commentors are likely to start moving out of the subreddit. And as people filter out that ratio will shift (so at one point it will be 70 pro-Skub and 30 anti-Skub, then 80 pro-Skub and 20 anti-Skub). Though some die hards may remain, they are downvoted and piled on to oblivion. This is more magnified the more contentious the content (see also most of the politics subreddits).

Purple Pill Debate seems to have attracted a lot more red (or black) pilled individuals in its early state, so at this point someone who isn't red pilled entering the subreddit is going to have to have a thick skin and desire to deal with the negative feedback of being in such a minority. Add in that any established redpiller (or incel) has all the talking points at their fingertips to argue around (in bad faith) any amateur who stumbles into conversation with them.

It is theoretically a sub where "red" and "blue" pill people both go and debate each other.

To what end? Who knows. Certainly the people who go there aren't changing their minds very often.

It's just a nice toxic place to find out the core beliefs of the people that follow RP ideology and what they think. It's nice that they're open about their ideas because that means no one has to give them the benefit of the doubt as most civil humans would.

They're very good at clarifying what they mean and how they go about it so I can see what red flags look like, what keywords to look out for, and what kind of tactics they're doing to try and get there. Also, a lot of them parrot talking points so when I hear someone say something eerily similar to something I've heard from the Youtube Manosphere, I know exactly who told them those words and what they meant. Even the Tradcons parrot RP Incel Manosphere stuff and I can even find the original youtube video where it came from; Hamza, Wheat Waffles, Think Before You Sleep, The Rational Male, Fresh & Fit, Taylor The Fiend, Piece of Mind, Detective Warg, Stefan Molyneux, Whatifaltist, Alexander Grace etc.

It's not really a debate sub, it's just another echo chamber for the ideologues. Personally, it helps me see what stats they're using so I can pull up the original and compare. It also shows me how they're warping the stats by looking at the conclusions they come to and the conclusions of the actual stat, study, and report. It helps me figure out what pieces of information they're omitting or dismissing to get to their narrative. They literally say talking points verbatim so I can see exactly what sources they're using just because of the common keywords.

Whenever I hear nonsense history, I know where the original source is from and I can debunk it with the actual historical evidence available. For some odd reason, they think all white people descended from the Romans and Greeks...That is like saying all Asians are descended from Genghis Khan...I don't think they realize that their ancestors were the conquered slaves to these invaders...Anyways, I'm getting better at dismissing the truly outrageous historical facts because a two-second Google search can expunge that immediately so no need to debate it.

If you like debates, the amount of fallacies they use is through the roof. It's such good content for knowing where people try and twist arguments that you get really good at shutting that down and not falling for the traps. It's like speedrunning hour-long debates in minutes. Their deflection game is also through the roof which is why it's great training for using it to your advantage in a debate. Sometimes they swerve too hard in an argument and right into a brick wall. Makes for a fun time.

It's fun if you like dumpster fires. Don't go there if you don't like dumpster fires...

It's a sub for redpill content. There's no debate because redpill is like a religion and if you state any fact that contradicts the Migthy Truth you're either lying or stupid.

I'm a girl who found that subreddit and I go there to get some schadenfreude. Watching young 20s guys rationalize dating so hard and losing their shit is comedy gold for me. I'm probably a bad person for hanging out there, but there's a decent sized group of anti red pillers there.

It's a sub where all ideaologies (red pill, blue pill, whatever colour pill and no pill) can talk with each other, which in theory sounds like a good idea. Sometimes you can find productive debates there, but most of the time it feels like a toxic place with a lot of red pillers attacking anything that goes against their conviction.

After being there for a little while I realised that it started to affect my opinion of men in a negative way, and I decided to take a break for some detoxication. If I believed that all men are like that (red pillers) I would prefer to stay alone over being with someone.
