So I had a first date tonight with a seemingly decent man. We agreed to meet for dinner at 8pm. As I was driving to the restaurant, I got a message from him that he was running a little late. Inwardly, I sighed; why can't people be on time?

Then I arrived at the restaurant and noticed another message from him: ETA 8:25. I replied, "You're really showing up 25 minutes for a first date?" He replied, "Yes, I know I'm the Ahole, I'm so sorry, the Uber was late."

That's a pretty lame excuse, especially considering we spoke on the phone at 6:30 to confirm the time, and he didn't mention that he had anything to do before our date. So he just managed his time poorly and CHOSE to be late.

I ignored his message, turned around, and went home. He continued messaging: "Almost there" at 8:30. Then, "Here" at 8:46. 46 minutes late for a first date.

I didn't reply to any of his messages.

Before this sub, I would have waited for him, and let him make his excuses. No more. Any man who shows me disrespect will be shown the same. I refuse to wait 46 minutes for a man who is not giving me the common courtesy to show up on time.
