Lately I've become aware through various incidents, that men perceive help differently than we do, they don't see it as you doing something nice to them, but rather as something that's expected.

Recently my boss asked me if I can help a colleague with something, it dosen't fall under my obligation for the job, my boss is well aware of it, so he asked in a nice way, and was grateful when I said yes.

So I did, I gave all the information to help, then the colleague asked me to share some personal information that I didn't think is necessary, I didn't see how it will help him, so I said no.

He acted offended and hurt, and was completely shocked that I said no, then proceeded to guilt trip me and said that I'm not helping at all and that he will figure it out on his own.

He acted like he's entitled to my help.

He didn't say thanks for what I already did, he didn't appreciate it, he acted like it's my job to help him and that I failed him. Honestly it's just sad and pathetic, they act like children, throwing a fist and trying to manipulate you and push your boundaries.

Before FDS I would've probably tried to help him more, but now I just see it for what it is.

Me helping is a choice, something I agreed to out of niceness, not an obligation. And him acting entitled means I'm not going to help him anymore.

So I answered with "Okay" and left it at that.
