one guy i was potentially going to go on a date with (did NOT happen lol) i asked to meet at our local coffee shop - small town, coffee shop is the only one, very big & public & safe, he said oh why don't we just go for a drive in my truck, and i told him "well i know who you are (small town lol) but i don't actually know you and i don't get into vehicles with strangers lol, nothing personal" and he said "oH sO tHaTs WhAt YoU tHiNk Of Me?". That was where i said okay fuck this; not happening. Like how can men NOT realize we have to do this shit for our own safety, especially after explaining that very thing?? When i was in 8th grade, girl a grade above me in school was raped & murdered by a guy she went on a first date with, when he took her for a drive in his truck. A guy people generally liked & came across as a nice guy. And SHE WASN'T THE ONLY ONE HE DID THAT TO. Even if that hadn't happened, i wouldn't agree to meet a guy i didn't know in somewhere not public that i wasn't comfortable in. But with that still always on my mind, no FUCKING way. And these boys just get all offended when you bring up the fact that i need to feel safe & you're really still a stranger to me. The fucking audacity

Regardless, if it's a date, the person who initiated pays. Unless the two of you are I a committed relationship where an understanding has been established, both of you paying.meams we're just hanging out and it's not a date. You're supposed to be taking them on a date, you organize and pay for it as it's supposed to be a treat for that person and an opportunity for your both. The gender of the asker/payer shouldn't matter
