I hate it too! The word pornography literally is from the Greek pornographos, ‘writing about prostitutes’, from pornē ‘prostitute’ + graphein ‘write’.

Bonus etymology: Prostitute, from Latin prostitut- ‘exposed publicly, offered for sale’, from the verb prostituere, from pro- ‘before’ + statuere ‘set up, place’.

It really makes no sense to describe your enjoyment of something non-sexual as pornographic in nature. Like, imagine taking pictures of baked goods, and then saying to your parents, "Would you like to see some cake porn?" It's not porn! It's wholesome, you can't call anything wholesome "porn."

I've always despised the terms foodgasm and foodporn. Couldn't point my finger on why I cringed everytime I heard someone use them unironically.

Slightly off topic but on a similar theme pornifaction of stuff like make up - I’m looking at Urban Decay and Nars here. Calling products names like Perversion and Orgasm - which is a mascara and a blusher respectively- you just lost my dollar.

It's this hypersexualization of society where anything positive is seen as inherently and automatically sexual. This is what you get when Society is run by men.
