I’ve really been noticing how badly some men react when we don’t give them access to information they ask for. They seem to have a real problem about it. It’s superbly unattractive! It sends me creep shivers when they push.

It's the entitlement. So unattractive...

I had a guy that begged me for my number for like 2 weeks. that alone gave me super bad vibes and I blocked him. guys that want to assert themselves like this are NOT good men or good partners, I guarantee it.
[–]Ms_TillyRuthless Strategist73 points74 points75 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
You can't just block them. They can keep getting new fake numbers to harass you if they are so inclined. That's why some women have to change their number. And he knows that so FUCK him. Any man that doesn't respect a woman being careful is not a good man. Good men know how bad other men can be and they respect the hell out of shit like this.

Can you please get outta here with all your wonderful logic! Lol They can’t handle it. 😩
[–]SnugglyyFDS Apprentice16 points17 points18 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Well said! Had a dude txt me from his iCloud once he suspected he was blocked lol
[–]Ms_TillyRuthless Strategist10 points11 points12 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This just happened to my friend. She was straight harassed by a dude she blocked. I actually made a post of the original conversation they had before she blocked. The next conversation was unreal.
[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah I had to change my number to dodge all the unknown and private numbers. Plus giving him your number after you hit it off IRL makes normal men feel good

I think it’s a solid move on your part and as a woman we should ONLY do this. But I think if a guy gave me a burner number, I’d probably think he’s married. However males need to understand its different for them than us, as males are so violent and predatory.

My point exactly too, for someone so educated it was disappointing the lack of thinking he did to understand I’m a woman, and more likely to get harassment or stalked.

💯 Next time I would just say: why would you give me a reason to block you? :) and attempt to continue as normal
[–]NotYourNatFDS Newbie[S] 13 points14 points15 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Oh I like how you think!!
[–]thewetdog_FDS Disciple2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I thought of another one: “don’t worry I can block you on my regular number just as easily :)”
[–]NotYourNatFDS Newbie[S] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I hate when the conversation is long gone and all the good one liners come to you! Smh
[–]magenta_mojoFDS Newbie2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I mean, if a man can’t understand why a woman would take such precautions... well then I’d say he isn’t very bright, is he? That or he’s manipulative. Either way, no thanks sis!
[–]m4dam3xFDS Disciple19 points20 points21 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I make it clear beforehand that I am giving someone a google voice number to protect my privacy until we establish a level of trust.
Any bad reaction to that gets the block. Good men will understand without question.

You did GOOD! You dont have to explain yourself ir apologize to him for your safety.
For something that didn't bother him, he sure did take it personally! In my opinion you saved yourself time. Next!

"Best Wishes™️" the universal phrase of self righteous fuckboy wannabes
Also "off-putting" is a way for them to make you feel like you gotta work harder. Or he's a colossal moron
[–]AmelaniaFDS Newbie12 points13 points14 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I feel like the only reasons I can come up with for a man being bothered by doing this, all point to him being a shit person that you don't want anything to do with.
If the goal is to talk to you more frequently and have a more "personal" connection with you than an app where you've got 1,000 other men trying to talk to you, this should be more than sufficient. They're just liars and want to have some power over the situation and our phone numbers provide that.
You even offered to FaceTime, which he declined, proving he wasn't worried about being catfished or whatever. "Best wishes" What a douche.
[–]NotYourNatFDS Newbie[S] 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Absolutely, he felt entitled to my real number. The FaceTime part had me confused, how shit of a catfish must I be if I say let’s FaceTime! Lol the mental gymnastics 🤸🏾♀️

My ex asked for my email address (that I primary use for my job). He said "I can't reach you anytime without it" (duh that's the point) "just contact me through FB"I said, he got upset but I was already planning how to get rid of him, he did a lot of LVM stuff. Thankfully I never gave me any other avenues to track me because he blew up my phone with threats as soon as I broke up with him ( over the phone in a safe location)

I’m sorry you had to go through this just to get this guy out of your life and I hope it doesn’t happen again.
[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Lol "something does not add up" fragile masculinity trying to make you feel like a psycho for being careful.
[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
So you made the right decision.
[–]cherieblosumRuthless Strategist6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Lmao. I only give guys my Google voice number. He's an ass. Why does he care what number you give? It's still a real one.
[–]randomgirlimokFDS Newbie5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
If you type your cellphone number into google your name and address will come up. Never give a stranger your real number, only google voice
[–]heythere360FDS Newbie8 points9 points10 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
No harm no foul on either end as far as I’m concerned.
[–]picturesofpicsFDS Newbie0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I would never give my number to some guy.

To which he’d say the same thing again, I’m not going to pick and choose my words in this context, because he’s already made up his mind that he wanted my real number. Phrasing wouldn’t have changed anything.
If he’s reading something as simple as me having a Google Voice number as negative and failing to get more info, that’s more indicative of him than me. Plus I made it clear once I got to know him better he could have my real one. He then proceeded to say that I was a catfish and not the person in my photos. I think there’s a time and place for tactfulness, he wasn’t it 🤷🏾♀️
