For real, those men don't even read about what the woman is looking for. I could write in my Okcupid "Not into outdoor stuff" and still receive "Do you want to go out camping?" messages and same about saying i'm only looking for a LTR and nothing else and still get a "So what are you looking for?"

I used to "struggle" with how I could most politely respond to this constant question -- which, of course, is already answered at LEAST twice in my profile/info/basic stats -- in a way that would not aggravate the asker because, you know, I wouldn't want my "attitude" to keep me from finding that diamond in the rough. Then I realized my best answer to that was instablock. :)

It pisses me off when they don't read the profile. I've had men ask what i do for a living. It's on the FIRST LINE of the profile ffs. Or what I'm looking for. Again, it's on the PROFILE. The worst part, is that since i was using TINDER, my profile was only like 75 words long! And they couldn't even be bothered to read it before they messaged me.

Yeah. I tried so hard to make it work for me the last time I used it by giving guys more chances and being less picky. After the 10th bad first date in a row, I realized it was clearly a bad practice and gave up. I’m so much happier not even bothering trying to date than I am when I actively use apps.

I tried that once too. I decided to respond to every message even if it was just to parrot back HI or HELLO THERE. And it didn't make a lick of difference. The conversations went absolutely nowhere. Last time I was on I wouldn't even respond to people with hookup/non monogamy/friends only on their profile. So basically I wasn't responding to anyone lol. It's hard to believe, but Hinge is even worse than the other apps. Hinge dummies dating down to the bare bones and the men on there make even LESS EFFORT. It's almost comical.

They are allowed six pics and three prompts. They choose horrible pics and answer the prompts THEY CHOSE all fucked up. Some choose three different prompts and then answer them all with food, everything, or nothing. You wouldn't believe how bad they mess up something so simple. You'd have to see it to believe it. And instead of leaving a comment on YOUR pics or prompts, they'll just like them. And if you ask a question and you match, they won't answer it and leave you no reason to respond back. I kept having guys prompt ME to start the conversation. I was done with that app in less than a week. It made me think even less of the men here than I already do.

Honestly, these guys must have been terrible students, doing the bare minimum just to pass. They’re probably terrible at work, too. Careless, sloppy, and incompetent all around.

The problem is that I am looking for a man with initiative enough to do all those things himself. I don't enjoy prompting or doing all the work. I feel like the right one for me would just get it. And I have met a few like that, but they weren't relationship material or didn't want relationships.
I am capable of getting lots of dates if I do all the work and act silly, etc. But I want a man to put in effort. Maybe when I get bored again I will try it just for the fun of it and the meals/drinks/practices, but it's hard to be interested in men with such lousy profiles and men that need constant prompting and pushing just to get anywhere.

Same! Hate doing the work, and cant keep up the fun/silly act. I finally found a man of value the second I stopped giving a crap. I went on dates in sweats, no make up and said whatever I wanted. Worked like a charm.

It reminds me of my visit to Thailand. All the hotels we stayed at had breakfast buffets so we would bring a baggie and steal ham slices or whatever breakfast meat seemed the least processed to feed to street dogs. In Phuket, I had leftover white bread from feeding fish and the street dogs there ate the bread but rejected the meat. Those were some high-falutin’ street dogs.
