Dirty nails/ how well they take care of their nails in general. The state of their shoes - I don't think everything has to be spotless or brand new, but I've seen so many guys walk around in shoes that are literally falling apart. Really tight clothing - in my experience only worn by guys who think they're hot stuff and are extremely vain . Wearing too much cologne.

Long hair on men can be beautiful but only if they maintain it. Unless it’s curly if it’s clear it never gets brushed, greasy or full of dead ends, it’s a no from me.

beards can be okay but again, it needs to look impeccable. i hate the horrible stubble that seems to be in fashion for some reason

Eyes. They truly are windows in I guess. If they appear anxious, dead, suspicious, or hiding something I next immediately.

Wrinkle patterns. Past 30, it reveals the most repeated expressions of our faces and tells a story. Listen to it.

Health. Is their body falling apart or are they still in good physical health and shape? They shouldn't have altered gaits, "bad knees" or terrible backs (barring degenerative diseases or one time accidents). If they kept healthy they will be in mid-20s shape.

Skin. Healthy diets and skincare will lead to decent looking skin. Leathery and very aged skin is next.

Above all I listen to my gut. I privately believe it's our evolved subconscious picking up on multiple outward signs at once. Someday science will show that we've been logically correct all along, and I advise to always trust it.

Heavily branded clothing, including anything under the Disney/Marvel/Star Wars brand - shows a lack of real personality, a desire to keep up with the Jones,’ lack of appreciation for art and true creativity, and that they’re a boring person who doesn’t value originality.

White running shoes, or ugly shoes in general - nope. Just can’t do it. I ignored white, dirty New Balance shoes on a first date and he ended up being as bland and uncultured as his shoes.

Aside from the obvious hygiene red flags, clothes are something I pay attention to. Stained/raggedy clothes are a red flag, aside from obvious occasions where a man will wear old/worn others (yard work, painting, exercise). Also any man who dresses in baggy clothes or seems to identify with hood culture... Hard pass.

Sausage fingers and a round belly is a sign of impending heart disease. Women dislike dad bods for good reason!

Also scuffed shoes. Especially if he has fallen arches and the insides are worn down so badly and he hasn't gotten insoles or seen a podiatrist, or worked out if it's his posture causing knock knees.

I'm a college student right now, and dependent of my parents, as are most guys my age, so I think some of my standards right now are more relaxed than the standards I'd be enforcing if I was a "fully adult", independent woman, looking to date independent adult men.

Still, some things I just can't compromise on are:

Bad hygiene. Not being able to afford braces or having a broken nose is one thing, but bad breath, unkempt facial hair or that smell in the area behind the ears is a deal-breaker.
Being overweight. I've gotten a lot of shit for this one, but I think it's an actual red flag. The great majority of men have been biologically blessed with a higher metabolism than women. This makes it harder for them to put on weight, so if the dude is fat, it most likely means his eating habits are bad and he doesn't exercise. Women can't be held to the same standards, first because we're literally designed for storing fat, but also because of the impossible beauty standards that have been forced upon us. Of course I'm not condoning obesity or unhealthiness, I'm just saying that what is considered "fat" in men is way different to what is considered "fat" in a women.
Extreme hairstyles, clothing styles or tattoos. Don't even fight me on this one, because it has been proven over and over again that extreme choices regarding one's appearance are an indicator of, at best, low self esteem and confidence, and at worst, deeper psychological issues. There's also the "2 ft. dreads are not a personality trait" thing.
The eyes. Someone commented about the "pornsick stare", and I fully agree with her. If his eyes are not clear and kind, I'm not interested!
