Exactly that & it’s working. Online consumerism has skyrocketed but ppl are more depressed & lonelier than ever- just how they want it. They want you reliant & hooked on consumerism so you’ll just about tolerate it. They want to commercialise all spheres of life. Dating. Sex . Intimacy. Because it takes power away from women. The increasing normalisation of cam girls & prostitution is part of that. Men can stay lazy degenerates now bc they can just buy that attention from some damaged nwomen somewhere else. 100% agree! I used to think that my mom was just bitter and hated men. She told us that she never remarried because she didn't want me to have a stepfather when I was a pre-teen/teen.
Now, despite our differences, I realize that she was only trying to protect me. Now that I'm in my mid-30s, she just told me she wanted to start dating again.

I wasn’t really speaking to that side of the family (why I had moved out already) so I didn’t, but I also didn’t speak to him for like three years after as it freaked me out.
He kind of did it in that vague way where he didn’t straight up come out and ask, but he was definitely hinting around it. At the time, I felt like if I’d said anything, he would have denied it and made me sound crazy and it would have just been a lot of drama (my dad and stepmom were already hardcore gaslighting us about their alcohol use and abuse, it’s not like they would have been appropriately shocked and done anything) so I just kind of blocked off that whole side of the family. I tried to reconcile a few years ago and it was more bs so now I just don’t talk to anyone lol. I did dump the boyfriend tho, it made me realize what an ass he was.
