I don’t even want to think about all the crusty ass scrotes that replied to this tweet mentioning that they’ve been cheated on by one girl before and that made him hate women and treat them like shit for the rest of his life so it’s the women’s fault they get treated badly 🙄

Edit: definitely /s

I'm not trying to be a man hater and I'm sure just like most of us on here may feel the same. IMO this doesn't need to be stated I think there already is that understanding.

Umm sorry, I guess I should’ve added /s to that because I was definitely being sarcastic

I'm a little slow on picking up what everything means on reddit. Seriously I'm looking at the urban dictionary every day!

Ma’am, I believe you dropped this? ‘/s’

I thought it’d be obvious but apparently not, so... thanks

I think that this is why Lizzo's "Truth Hurts" was so popular. It resonated with most women, who got turned up when it first came out. On the other hand, most men would groan and want the song changed. Speaks volumes.

It's sad that almost every girl over the age of 13/14 has made experiences with sexual harassment. It's such a sick world

Honestl for most if starts as young as 9 like what it’s horrific what in their right mind makes this okay

This is so true.
I was always very ‘mature for my age’ so I was 174 cm when I was 10-11. We were on vacation and I was chilling in the hotel pool with a book, when some guy on a business trip tried to talk to me. He told me he worked for an international bank, and I was really exited because that bank originally is from my home country. I didn’t get that it was weird and thought we had a nice little chat.
My mom (who was 29 years old at the time) had to shoo him away since he was apparently really checking me out. I remember being upset and not getting it. But now I’m like, that guy was my moms age probably and he’s hitting on her incredibly young daughter. It’s so weird.

Jesus that’s so young I remember getting upset when people “ ruined it for me too” but like Jesus yikes how could anyone not step in.
I remember getting hit on quite a bit as a young teenager and my sister or mom having to yell “SHES 13!”

It’s crazy right?! 🙄
[–]littleredpartydress_FDS Newbie2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Looking back I really didn’t look that old for my age I was still clearly a teenager and with my parents like 😬

Very true. Very depressing to think about.

What makes me sad is it's because we live in a patriarchal society. Sigh even my relatives are LVM...which led me to be comfortable around those types and feeling unworthy of HVM.

Girl, omg hit the nail on the head!!!!!
ALL OF MY AUNTS AND COUSINS AND TWO OF MY SISTERS ARE PICKMEISHAS.
My mom, me and my one youngest sister are not. When my mom was alive she would drill in my head that marriage will only work if you both feel respected and safe. She was married for 52 years. She always told me to save money as if I’m on the verge of homelessness.
[–]teatimebiitchFDS Newbie14 points15 points16 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
THIS ONE HIT!!
Not only is my family full of LVM, but also full of insecure women with self-esteem issues who have always told me to put up with things and “make it work” instead of just leaving a shitty situation. It’s so annoying and makes me feel helpless sometimes.

There's this TV show called Drifters (for any Brits who fancy watching it, it's on Channel 4's website and for any non Brits, it's available on Amazon). It's a bit trashy but I liked it mainly because it's been an eye opener to what a pickme's like.
Anyway, in one of the episodes, the main girl called Meg is sleeping with a guy who basically only calls her up for sex and strings her along. Her best friend tells her to ditch him because he doesn't want to label it but she's "nice" about it and prides herself on being a super low maintenance girl.
Ended up bumping into the actress who actually played Meg (and she created the show) and she said she deliberately picked a scenario like that of being strung along and falling for it because all women would be able to relate to it. It's sad that I watched it with my friends and we all related to it.

Yep this is very true and one of the reasons men don't relate to female issues because they don't get treated as bad as women. Even the bumfucked ugly ones. Men can't even empathize because it's hardly something that happens to them, but for the most part they get what they want and how they want it. Fuck men!

it makes me cry to think of my 12 year old sister's coming years. i will help her as much as i can but i know some things are beyond my protection

I know a really young girl (she is now 14) and she has already experienced so much bullshit from guys. At 13 she was already being manipulated into sex by 16 year olds. It's horrible.

Honestly, I think toxic pickmes are a million times worse than LVM. You'd think you'd be able to relate to each other more over your experiences as women but then you realise she'd sell her granny for male validation.

Women go through too much shit in this world. It's sad and tiring. We deserve better.
[–]reallyrunningnowFDS Newbie5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Funny enough, I do know some women who haven't/weren't. It wasn't cause of men tho. Any man who tried treating them like crap would be kicked out of their life instantaneously.
