I used to be one of those people who just said the wage gap was fake. While it's true that the majority of it 96%+ can be explained by different factors (hours worked, vacation time, maternity leave, inclination to ask for a raise, productivity, etc.), that is the issue.

Women shouldn't be punished for taking maternity leave, they learn so many new skills as a primary caregiver that translate very well in the workplace.

Women not having as much confidence in regards to asking for raises or applying to better jobs is a problem.

Women having to compete with men during the week of their period with a bunch of disadvantages (fatigue, moodiness, more bathroom breaks, pain, etc.) is a problem. The workplace is literally designed for men and their hormone cycles. There needs to be more accomodations for women during these times and we need to raise women's confidence and start accepting the skills women learn during motherhood.

As for the breast cancer comment... I don't think I need to address that.

I completely agree with the point u r making, but i just have one question. Was it ur account that commented this (the downvoted post)? Because when its someone else, you have the lil + present icon, as in, u can give them an award (like in the upvoted comment theres the + icon next to reply button). However, underneath the downvoted comment, there isn't one. Isnt it only the case when its ur own comment??
