Why do men even want forever girlfriends?

They want comfort. They’re long term girlfriend will still take care of him, cater to his needs, and fuck him. He is taken care of with her and knows he would be shit without her. But he still waits for his one true love by scouting out other women until he finds someone he thinks is better.

To them having a girlfriend is like having a job. It’s better to have one than to not have one, but if a better one with more benefits comes along, they’ll quit in a second.

A couple of points I want to add:

Men like to think that they’re SOooOoOoO logical and reasonable. They don’t think with their emotions right? They think with “logic”.

In their mind, it just makes logical sense right! He’s getting what he needs, she’s getting bare minimum to be content, and he asks himself: why would I break this off? (Logically speaking of course).

But sometimes it’s actually logical to follow your emotions. They’re our only guiding principle in life!

They forget that and then put if off until it’s so late.

Also it’s just like men to have low standards. A HVM has high standards and that’s part of what makes him so attractive. But most men have really really low standards (not saying the women they’re with are low standard material, I’m just saying the man doesn’t strive for the best outcome. He’s okay with good enough).

Many men will tell you that if sex wasn’t a thing, they wouldn’t keep jobs and would just sit around with no purpose in life. Their general state is complacent, low achieving, and bare minimum. Essentially just low effort.

Strange, though, when they meet someone they consider valuable, they suddenly lose all fear of getting married. 🙄

Free sex, free emotional labour,... Women are entertainment for men, we are like "things" that are used when they are bored. Think about men who only want a woman who "is positive about everything" for example. If they only want an ego boost, then obviously they are never going to really commit, as real commitment includes efforts from both sides. But a dude who just wants a forever "girlfriend" is obviously the type to not do anything, in fact they are the type to run away for nothing serious...

And vice versa: men can't stand the fact that women are human with needs, so treating them like slaves or unpaid worker is their way to disempower us.

Men and women relationship are political, the more "private" and intimate men are with women, the more they will do something that empowers them.

Easy sex, easier to leave, women tend to do more cooking and cleaning.

I imagine some men feel like it's having a maid they can have sex with at will.

What benefit do some get from having to clean up after someone? I really don't know.

Unlike women it's not as easy for men to find sex on the regular.
Other men (family, friends) will respect them more .
Their confidence gets higher, which makes it easier to flirt with other women.

Bonus is that having girlfriend makes them look less desperate and pickmeishas will have better response to their advances.

Cleaning, washing their clothes, cooking, emotional labour.

Etc, etc.

They need someone to build with. They'll then claim to be self-made when "The One" enters his life.

I actually do see the logic in this. Everyone could use a free personal assistant, counselor, domestic helper, social planner, health boost, intimacy and sexual outlet while moving forward. If you find that with no expectations in return, you'd take it, no? You'd probably also feel self-made once you move on if these things are just freely given to you on your way up the ladder so it's a reasonable delusion.

If your endgame really is marriage, make it clear and police your own actions as religiously as his. Don't do wife stuff for someone who doesn't want a wife.

The answers I have been given is; "marriage is a bad contract for men." They claim they get nothing out of it but financial ruin. A lot of men believe and live by this idea and its only spreading faster and faster. They also say they don't trust prenups.

My brother is one of these guys and everyone here is 100% correct. I can tell he's only thinking of himself and his own needs when he does this. Now that I think about it, he can be really selfish in general... Sometimes I want to walk up to his girlfriend (who is truly a HVW) tell her to leave him because I know she wants more but I feel that's too harsh and hard to pull off gracefully.

Someone i know was told all of his life by his enabling mother that he didn't need to rush things and to take life slooooowly, as a result he married his forever gf after 10 years. But they still live at his parents place.

LVM are cowards who would rather be content with the status quo, even if they think they can "do better", unless they have "better" literally right in front of them. Also they get everything they want for literally zero effort. Sounds like a great deal!

You mean compared to getting married?
My boyfriend just don't want to get married. Same goes for me personally. I've never been interested in marriage and neither has he.
The guys who want to marry at some point but needlessly drags it on needs to get their shit together though.
