Obviously gender is considered an issue that needs in depth and specific political framing. My question is, is this justified ? Or just a tradition?

It seems to be framed as far more mainly political than the plight of ugly people, religious freedom, child abuse, curing cancer, or even housing.

Many gender issues seem like they could be thrown into larger simpler boxes of civil liberties and social rights. As in bodily autonomy, full access to healthcare and the means of life, freedom from violence, non discrimination in accessing any service or good or social rights. Isn’t possible social division and deadlock from making things fine grained a cost to factor in too- and avoid incurring?

The further details are important of course, but are they actually better served through political framing ?

Is the fact that one Indian tribe is poorer than another really best framed politically if we know the difference is due to water access, that we could remedy through solid engineering and the solidarity of broad rights and brotherly love mentioned above?

Do we need an F or M in front of genital mutilation ? Zooming in, dealing with logistics, laws, medicine , technical remedies and stuff, Yes we do. But for the broader social discussion, aren’t they just examples of bigger and real political issues? Like freedom from discrimination, violence, and bodily autonomy?
