Men are happy when they're doing things. Solving problems, working, building something, improving a skill, etc. I used to deny this, but it's true.

If I'm lazy around the house watching TV all day, I feel more depressed. If I get up and just simply go mow the lawn, for example, I feel like I've done something productive, and the depression is gone.

As long as you need someone in your life to be happy, you are screwed. People are dynamic. They are not same throughout their life. Bodies grow. (bodies are organisms. They are formed by desire. They grow. They mature. they decay. They can be compared to countries which are organisms too. They are formed. They grow. They mature. They decay slowly and go into oblivion. From their ashes new countries form and they come and go.) At each stage of growth different maturity levels are reached. So how can you expect someone to make you happy. Whatever you like in someone will change and you will start resenting them after the change. This is a fact of life. This is the root cause of all problems in marriage and in all relationships.

The only happiness is worth having is within you. you need to overcome your tendency to look for relationships to make you happy. Instead try to be happy within. try to find happiness in solitude. try to find happiness in being healthy and wealthy. Try to find happiness in taking care of your body-mind. Find peace within yourself. Find contentment within yourself without looking for someone to fulfill you. Do not find happiness in anything like material objects and females or family.

The only happiness that will always be with you is what you can have internally which doesn't come from outside. Whatever comes from outside is not reliable. Someone who agreed to provide you love and affection can stop doing so. Or someone can leave you. Or that someone can decide to upgrade them to another relationship.

So decide once and for all that no happiness from outer world is worth. Find peace within. Find contentment within. Find fulfillment within. Be integrated within yourself. Love yourself not the ego which wants to possess and cling to external objects. Love your inner self. Love your inner intelligence that gives life to you. Be wise. Be smart. Be intelligent. Look out for your welfare.

There is absolutely on happiness in family life. Family life is for nothing but business arrangement with men and women who provide services to each other. Men need s..x fix since he is addicted to s..x. Women need resources and children. This is essentialy a trade between two organisms for their mutual benefit. Unfortunately women hold the reproductive card which is slightly more valuable than male's service which needs labor and money which is hard to earn and hard to keep doing for rest of the life. That is how system works. See it as it is. Accept the reality and do not deny it. Do what works best for you. go your own way.

my paradigm changed when I simply accepted that alot of sadness and loneliness was simply chemical responses in my body trying to get me to breed and reproduce. nothing makes you want to fuck any girl than crippling loneliness, it's good for the survival of a race.

once you can overcome that you realize, they are just mood swings, hormones. for the most part you can be super happy alone 99% of the time. which only improves with age since once men's sex drive starts to go then we really like to be alone.

When I was a younger man, all my friends were getting married, having kids, finding long term relationships. I was busy doing what I did best, laying and spraying randos weekly. I was laughed at and shunned, told I was miserable and lonely. But I had other hobbies, things to do, and I did (and still do) whatever I want whenever I want. I haven't been in a relationship since before I was 25, and I'm minutes away from 40. Over time, they sounded depressed, some even looked like broken shells of war weary soldiers coming off the battle field. None of them seemed truly happy.

Then eventually they all got cheated on, divorced, see their kids every other weekend, and are struggling to get by. Few seem like they are happy and thriving, even the ones who fixed all their problems by marrying for a second or third time. Meanwhile, I've never felt depressed or lonely. I have lifetime hobbies I'm deeply passionate about and I'm never bored. Even right now, I'm taking a Reddit/coffee break late on a Saturday morning while working on a car project. Later the stripper I've been seeing for a year or so will be by to take me to a movie. Tomorrow, we will see....

This is true for Blue Pill, Red Pill, any pill. Sometimes what people crave the most is just to be heard. Most people don't listen.

It's a gift and a curse, being "unplugged" Once you unplug, you can let go of the idea that someone will love you unconditionally. You can let it go, but it hurts. The truth of it, like all truth, just fucking hurts.

When you are desperately looking for someone, the person you really need to find is you.

When you come to terms with that, the pain of loneliness ends. You still feel lonely at times, but it doesn't hurt as much anymore.

I've said this before to woman, I know far more unhappily married men than those that were happily married. For every three or four happily married men, I know six or seven that are miserable or divorced that will never marry again.

I've made that statement on a Facebook post put up by a woman, patting herself on the back of how wonderful of a wife she was. A number of women basically "Me Too-ed" her statement.

It took about three days and I got a response from two of the women saying that my statement was correct and they also knew many more unhappily married men than happily married men.

I agree, I always thought I was sort of an outcast in my family because I hadn't brought a woman to a family party in years. They even began suspecting I was gay. They even gave me a speech on how it's OK if I am gay and to just admit it.

I eventually told them I'm happiest when I'm alone. They respected that and never bothered me again with this stuff. Great people tbh.

In the end they were concerned with my happiness because they assumed I needed to be in a relationship to be happy. I showed them another path.

OP your mistake is assuming single men would be sad to begin with.

In reality, government prefers married men because they slave away at work more to provide for their family (and spend the money instead of saving).

So they tweak those statistics, for example by categorizing formerly married men who got depressive after divorce-rape as 'single'.

I disagree. I was an unhappy single man, always looking for my life co-pilot. Someone to stand by my side and be there after my long hard days. Someone to share my victories and downfalls with. Someone to look up to and someone that would look up to me, too. Without motivation every day, I became selfish, and I realized that my only cure for selfishness was to find that someone.

41 tinder dates later, I did. I'm getting married in February. We both have plans to start our own companies by the end of 2018.

I was sad because without someone by my side, I was just me. Now, I'm happy because I have that special someone to share myself with.

The problem is other men buying into the whole relationship thing.

For example i have 4 good friends. (Like we've been friends for nearly 20 years) But the only time i get to hang out with the married ones is if their woman has to work a night shift or if she is out of town. They exclusively hang out with other couples.

So basically a single man is not sad because he is single, he is sad because he is alone. At a certain age it's hard to find male friends who are single and even if they are single when you become friends, chances are high they won't stay single.
