I always thought it was a little unfair how women have this avenue to artificially raise their "value" a good 2-4 points to appear more attractive than they really are. I like how you can tell that the really ugly ones are still ugly with make up, while one of the middle eastern girls and some other girls still looked relatively decent without it. You must mean when producing offspring, because if you take out the child creation aspect, it only matters how attractive the person appears.

For example, if you are dating somebody who is incredibly attractive but the rest of her family are average / below average, then your offspring have a chance to pick up the genetic traits of her family (and you should suspect whether she has done cosmetic surgery)

To be fair, those women are benefactors of expert makeup artists. The majority of women couldn't achieve these drastic transformations. In proper lighting it's always self-evident when a woman has drowned her face in foundation. That's why you can spot women at university that only look "okay" during class hours, or pinpoint who has too much makeup on for a blistering June day, but at 9:00 PM when she's actually put her face together and natural light is dwindling, she looks stunning at the bar. Add in alcohol and you have a literal cocktail for improving one's sexual market value 1-3 points.

With vanity at all time highs, and women now applying this stuff since prepubescent childhood, I'm not surprised male makeup is blossoming as an industry.
