I’ll take it a step further and say that the ideology can be (and sometimes is) forced upon the child - i.e., the decision is made by a parent (which are by and large mothers) - simply because they decide to play with stereotypically feminine toys, for example.

These parents (again, usually mothers) seem to be virtue signaling to a degree because by “supporting” their child’s curiosity or whatever, they’re “progressive” and far above any other person or parent because look! I’m supportive of a male child!!
