So quick recap of my first post. Wife gave me the I love you but not in love with you talk and repeatedly told me to go get a gf. You guys told me that probably means she's cheating and/or doesn't believe I could.

Well thanks for that bc it lit a fire. Dropped 60 lbs and have hit major strides in lifting. I look pretty good at this point. Work, finances, friends and hobbies remain strong as well. Despite this sex has not improved but general attitude and shit tests have.

I've been going out separately with my single friends once a week. Married friends are generally boring, fat and lazy. Not fun to hang out with outside of family get togethers. I'm now my single friends favorite wing man. I can meet attractive women with ease and have had a couple hookups. This was a bit of an ego boost to start but now I'm confident and don't require the validation. I just want good sex. Side effect is it's made me way more disconnected from my wife. I don't even get pissed about lack of sex from her bc I know I can get it elsewhere.

This week I realized she was able to see my texts on the ipad since the last iOS update. Texts I'd rather have not seen with girls and my friends. It catalyzed a conversation about what is happening with our relationship. Not about emotions but more so logistics. I told her the more I do this, the more I consider divorce a viable option. We agreed that our kids are young and we'd rather not split up into 2 homes. We still are "friends" and get along/parent together well. But attraction has fizzled a lot.

She said she could try on us again but I have no interest in that if it's purely out of an obligation to the kids. More starfish sex is not what I'm looking for.

So if anyone has experienced with an open marriage, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Is this realistic in the long term? I have no desire to get married again. I'm secure in myself and feel better than I have in a long time. Don't have any desire to be validated by a woman.

PS. Guys, this works. I'm super happy despite my situation. Obviously YMMV as you can see. I feel great, look great and have confidence for days.
