As a straight man I feel insulted on behalf of gay men by the 2SLGBTQI+RAGGMOPPetc acronym. Gay men did virtually ALL the heavy lifting in fighting for equality and recognition of that community. Overwhelmingly it was gay men who came out of the closet, risked their careers, safety and reputations to change minds and change policies. Gay men literally died (continue to die in some places) for equality and human rights. Only AFTER gay men successfully carved out a safe space for that community at great cost to themselves did the other members of “the community” cautiously come out. To this day it’s overwhelmingly GAY MEN who foot the bill for pride parades, etc.. What is their reward? Ridicule by the very people who benefited hugely from the efforts of gay men. I’ve heard “feminist/LGBT+” people insultingly refer to gay men as “the straight white men of the community”. Fuck those guys.

Gay men, hold your heads up high! You’re fine and brilliant examples of manhood and deserve much better recognition and respect.

The last yr or so has been refreshing AF to start to see even those like yourself, or black people, or others (women too!), all more and more willing to speak against the fringe identity bullshit that is constantly so prevalent it creates a warped version of reality for those who lack critical thinking (so most under 25? or under 35?)

I think all of us have a few things in common that are far more important/concerning to our real life outcomes/opportunities or future democratic stability.

Wealth inequality
Institutional capabilities of our data manipulation at the societal level, especially since its a (maybe the) primary use of AI advancements, and we just pumped trillions to the major corps in control of it, and that was led by govt funded proposals that later did pass, and govt has an executive order to work with them on it with no oversight...
How little our real life represents media fearmongering (of any sort or side)

Despite those all being nearly universally equal and significant to all of us, I find it interesting how they never are truly pushed by politicians or at best have cycles of short lived rhetoric going back to my teens (dial up era pre-Snowden).

I know this is a mens sub, and naturally an inclination to come at it from there, but I think its fair to say (and maybe obvious to you too), but that 'the well off and well connected' bit tends to be valid in all the current divisional agendas. Look at EVs...

In short, we did alot to attempt to create a new industry, over fears of theoretical inches of water levels in 150 yrs (Im slightly being facetious), while a great deal of institutions involved in pumping it made shit tons of $, and we created alot of 'paper' growth in markets, while well off folks get to virtue signal in a car ~ 75% of the population can't reasonably afford, there is no guarantee EV mass adoption will have a major impact on its own, let alone if that would matter before our kid's kids live out their natural lives regardless. Edit: None of this is to deny all validity for EVs, only to Q intentions and societal priorities, and the way scientific data is presented through media headlines deceptively.

Undeniable/observable (but low key reported on) evidence for all of that? If the goal was simply to mass adopt EVs asap, China already has affordable models for the avg household, but we have blocked them with tariffs to fend them off from being able to swoop in and dominate the US market share. We only want it, if we can profit off it. This isn't speculation btw (but I will admit its more complex than just this). Right now, maybe was this very week, we have both Dems and Reps actually preparing to push for a 100% tarriff on EVs, up from I think 25%. Even Trump had some stuff to say on it if I recall.

Maybe not so short...but my point is (imo) you can see these elements of nearly propaganda-esque messaging in most social agendas now, where in reality they have little or no actual relevance for the avg person's outcome or QoL, if they even have shit to do with us at all in the end.

Prince was the one who went by an unpronounceable symbol that isn't even in unicode. Pronouns tend to be a lot easier

But if you want people even further from mainline gender norms then for those into industrial music you've got Genesis P-Orridge and then within the LGBT community you've got people we would describe as "gender non-conforming" like Marsha P. Johnson. Or all those butch lesbians who would probably prefer "she".

None of this is particularly new. Even the famous 1957 gay wedding which is largely populated by men in suits who wouldn't look out place at a Mattachine Society march featues what is generaly assumed to be a man in a dress:

If every single niche statistical identity group has an agenda that dominates the media landscape, while 50% of the population have NO agenda or supportive representation in society, that is BAD.

One could even wonder how its naturally possible to be occurring, without incredible ignorance, or the obvious divisional outcomes being intentional and engineered.

You didn't negate a single thing I stated beyond cherry picking an obviously generalized representation of the male population, and everything stated still is just as valid, despite the 1% of the population identifying beyond LG (if using officially sourced data used by courts supporting gender transitioning), which is almost entirely consisting of young adults or children.

No shit that 50% has some fractional % of all other non-female groups also wrapped up in it...but most men are obviously excluded from those societal agendas or any other form of support.

If you think men have equality in representation and support, I'll delete the OP if you can find me one pro male sub, even this one, with 25% of subbed users of the leading female one. And we can play that game all day, before even getting past the bullshit reality for level of influence various outlets have vs others.

49% if you are in america btw. But this 49% includes ace-spec, bisexual, homosexual, heterosexual, and their romantic equivalents. This includes transmen, masc nonbinary, and cismen as genders with male bodies. So, i guess that leaves us with 30% or less of the population. We can also reduce this by race, seeing black men have some degree of public advocacy, despite its flaws. And teachnically white men do have such tho it is not marketedas such, which is like every other non-black conservative platform and spokesperson and religious circle in america.
