As far as I'm concerned that sub is an SRS-controlled sub and no rational discussion is possible. Even if your posts make a good argument and get upvoted you're likely to get banned for having opinions different than those of the mods.

Also, I'd like our the mods to weigh in on whether the "No linking to SRS subs" sidebar rule applies to /r/atheismplus.

Edit: Just as I predicted, they banned everyone who disagreed with them.

These people are a joke let them fade into obscurity. No reason to try and deal with those who lack critical thinking skills and skepticism while claiming that's what they're based around. They show themselves to be frauds by their own words -- let them be hoisted upon their own petard.

Took me less than 2 minutes to realise this r/atheismplus sub is just an extension of that abomination known widely as "skep"chicks.

The seed of bigotry was planted for these people long before they gave a damn about atheism.

Secular and atheist groups are known for their skepticism, and the ability to be reasoned with.

No one in that sub possesses either of those traits.

The MRM is emphatically not a mirror of feminism. It is anti-feminist. It is against women's rights. The only thing it is "for" is men's rights over women's. Equivocating so called "female privilege" to male privilege is an insult to women everywhere and not a conversation I'm interested in having multiple times a day on this subreddit.

Very open to discussion. /s

More interesting, posts(not comments) the posts themselves, are designed so as not to be able to be downvoted unless the subs particular sub style is turned off, again, yet another trait known to be used by social justice wackos(SRS and the like).

Yesterday one of the mods there was ItsMsKim who frequently posts in SRS, and she was responding to requests to ban people and oblige them.

I raised this to kylev and suggested they just rename the forum to SRSAtheism.

By the end of the day, ItsMsKim was no longer a moderator there.

BUT!

But three of the mods there, http://i.imgur.com/3t3wx.jpg Elphaba_Is_Green AtomicUnobtanium dancingwiththestars have only been redditors for a few days or even a few hours.

I have only been at reddit a month, but already it's clear that such a significant number of brand new moderators indicates they are alts of SRS members.

Which makes atheismplus just that much more pathetic. A skeptical atheist community that isn't even open in who they align with.

I really don't understand people on the internet. One taste of anonymity and they feel like they can slander anyone who disagrees even slightly with their point of view. Why can't we promote equal rights for everyone instead of cutting it down to fractions of groups that seem to in-fight more than they do anything productive.

Does anyone remember the thread that was posted a month or two ago that showed how to block anything dealing with certain keywords or subreddits? I had mine set up at work to block anything and everything from SRS, but lost the link before I could do the same at home.

I feel it would be a great shame to follow the advice of trolls unwittingly rather than view the subject of Men's Rights with fairness.

The group Men's Rights on Reddit works toward exposing instances in the system and society where men are at a disadvantage, and focuses on these issues. This is not to say women don't have their own disadvantage, or that Men's or Women's problems are better or worse.

From looking at that sub, it makes me happy that the MRM is so focused on men's rights, and doesn't mix other irrelevant issues together.

I'm glad we have a movement where people of all sorts of political beliefs, religious beliefs, races, genders, sexual orientations, etc can put all that aside and fight for men's rights, and only bring those external factors into the debate where they are relevant. We fight side by side.
