People move around and single mom's more than most, since for financial reasons they often get evicted/skip out on rent. This kind of registry would be useful to social workers.

First ask yourself what you did to provoke her. Women are never violent without a cause.
Once you've figured out why you deserved this stop doing it and apologize to her.
If she continues abusing you then you must not have figured out the right failing on your part to fix, or you didn't fix it to her satisfaction. So repeat step one until the abuse stops.
If she kills you before you have sufficiently corrected your behavior then you must be one evil bastard. You won't be charged, this time, but your abuse of her will be reported widely in the papers.

Would anyone like some good news associated with this?
This has been up before and I showed my it to my wife (who happens to be a teacher at an all girls school) who then went on to show it to her students in her unit on justice.
Without any prompting a student straight away asked "what number can men call?" And her whole class was horrified at the blatant sexism.
There is hope for the future (at least in Australia).

According to the Australian government "a woman is more likely to be killed in her home by her male partner than anywhere else or by anyone else." Also, "Most males (89 per cent) and females (67 per cent) who were victims of physical assault reported that the offender was male." (same source)
Donno if that accounts for the language on the hotlines. It'd be cooler if they were gender neutral though...
In the US the statistics look like this:

Males were 83% of spouse murderers and 75% of dating partner murderers - U.S. Department of Justice via American Bar Association

I get what you're trying to say; you're in good faith saying that since women are more at risk more resources should be spent on them. Not a horrible argument, but unfortunately axiomatically flawed, through no fault of your own.

True, although at least in the US spousal homicide victimization is 60/40 female/male. Of course men are killed 4 times as often in general so the portion of their murders that are domestic are skewed.

I was really just trying to point out that the government data implies that men are more often (not always) the perpetrators of and women the victims of (again, according to the government) the types of violence that the hotlines were set up for.... so I kinda see where the language on their site might've come from.. not that it's perfect.

It's not that their data is "wrong", but that they're measuring things with definitions that often obviate female perpetration and mask male victimization, and ignore that vicious cyclical aspects of violence, both intergenerational(large portion of rapists found to have been sexually abused as children; most of those who raped women were abused by women, and most of those who raped men were abused by men. Those who are victims of sexual assault are more likely to abuse children later in life) and in individual intimate relationships.
So their data is accurately measuring things based on their definition, but a definition that prevents the data from accurately measuring reality.
