What if I, a man, regrets it as well because she decided to change her mind and accuse me of "raping" her? Will that count?

I thought she was 100% able to consent and meant it but turned out she wasn't... And I regret trusting her.

It's like your college sending you a letter and demanding your diploma back because they decided you failed three courses that you "passed" last year and now you don't have enough credit to keep it... And you have to oblige AND pay fees because you're using an illegal fake diploma.

My favorite is when they say the woman couldn't give proper consent because she was drunk. But no one ever says anything if the man was drunk. So she gets a pass because she was drinking but he doesn't?

That argument drives me crazy because it's the opposite of the empowerment that today's women are chasing. It says women are weaker than men and can't handle their alcohol. Doesn't it? Feminists aren't very smart.

It's mostly women trying to save their face from being one-nighted or money hungry criminals.

I did some research on rape and there are common misconceptions that men and women need to be educated in really badly:

1) It's actually really surprisingly common for rape victims to dissociate. That means that they can't fight back or resist the rape. It's as if their spirit leaves their body and they aren't even there to resist.

2) There's the flight and fight response. But a very common response to danger is freezing. Women and men often freeze when raped. Also, this causes the appearance of a consent, but they were frozen due to the three Fs. Freeze, flight or fight. Men may not realize how afraid she was and take not resisting as agreeing.

3) Women are much more likely to black out than men are from alcohol. Black out doesn't mean unconscious. It means you don't remember what happened. You can be giving a speech, dancing, and black out. Women may assume she was incapacitated because she has no memory and accuse you of rape based on that assumption.

Edit: I suppose I need to explain more clearly. This is not a "women are special fairies that men must praise and give special standards to because women" comment. This is a this is the current reality of the world, and we would do better to let men know this (the lack of self-agency in women out there, therefore resulting in a rape accusation even if they do say "yes"). Yes, it's dumb that it happens. But if you want to protect yourself from a rape accusation, if she's saying "yes", but the body language and tone says "no", then don't proceed, in order to protect yourself from an accusation.

I want to add another dimension to this:

I think a core issue is that society teaches women they have no self-agency. So because of that, even though she might agree to the intercourse, she genuinely feels raped because society has told her since day 1 she has no self-agency to make her own choices and in effect, conditions her to cave to and act like she is into another person's desires. Or the lack of self-agency teaches her to be overly sensitive to the point that she thinks anything sounds like pressure to have sex, when it's not actually someone trying to pressure her, therefore saying 'yes', but genuinely still feeling raped.

Society needs to teach self-agency to women, so she actually says what she wants, and we don't end up in situations where she says "yes" but ends up truly feeling she was raped.

On the other hand, we need to teach men to understand this. Because the way the world should be (people speaking thier mind), is different form what it is (explained above). So to avoid this situation, it's useful to teach men there are women that are this way, so scan the body language and tone, and based on that don't continue intercourse even though she said "yes", to avoid any sort of bad situations/court where from one side says it is rape, while the other side says "I don't get it, she said yes."

I'm just outlining situations where the man could believe he's falsely accused, but from the woman's perspective it's rape.

These situations are the most common actually. If you check the online forums for rape victims, they froze and so they weren't sure if it's rape because they didn't fight back.

I see these types of comments constantly on these rape victim forums.

That I got down voted so much just shows how unreasonable most of you are, and most likely are rapists. Everytime I see this sub you are mostly unreasonable in so many comments and responses.

While I agree with the idea, the poster sends a wrong message. It says "it's your fault that you got raped", not "falsely accusation of rape is bad"
