Feminists think misogyny is more prevalent in society. I think misandry is more prevalent.

I'm pretty happy supporting the MRA movement because this is not an issue for me. I don't need to play the oppression olympics to see that there are legitimate issues that men face in the West today which are problems for them and unique to them. Between misogyny and misandry it could be 51/49%, 49/51%, 90/10%, or 10/90%. No matter. I see some horrible stuff happening to guys, it seems few people know or care, and I want to help do something about it.

I think a large number of people who "identify" as feminists in polls are not actually part of the feminist movement in any active sense. A lot of people, if you ask them, will think "Feminism means believing in gender equality, right? I believe in gender equality. Therefore I guess I'm a feminist." This doesn't mean their beliefs are extreme or misandrist, just that they've bought into the more innocuous-seeming definition of feminism that is pushed by the movement for PR purposes.

I want to point out that in the article you cited, only 19% of women said that "feminist" decribed them "very well", while 42% said it only described them "somewhat well", which supports what I'm saying. There are a lot more "casual feminists" than actual feminists.

Ask them what they think about equality of human rights one day. The second one ask them what they think about women proposing to men or about women working on dumpsters. Almost always has a contradictory answer.

According to this article, 61% of American women identify as feminists.

You're also forgetting that a woman does not have to label herself a "feminist" in order to have feminist ideology and agendas.

For example, a woman can be in favour of the biased Family Court system, MeToo and BelieveAllWomen crap but does not call herself a "feminist".

Therefore if you put that in consideration, the percentage will be much higher.

I want to avoid misandrists.

Misandrists are everywhere all around us. Including other men.

If you want to avoid them then you would need to live in a forest somewhere on your own away from other people and Internet, TV, etc.

To find misandry doesn't just take some basic recon.

Check her social media posts; if you hit more than three strikes where she liked, followed or commented affirmatively to misandry, red flag that anti-personnel mine and back away carefully.

Honestly, just do a job that involves physical work outdoors and long hours. Most women, especially the "educated" misandrist types, avoid those jobs like the plague, which is why they pay well. If you are worried about it in the context of dating, look for trends in her female friends and family and speak with men that have been around her for a while.

To you, misandry is more prevalent because of your own beliefs. To feminists, misogyny is more prevalent because they care more for women and will notice things more when it affects women, hence misogyny is more prevalent to them because of their beliefs.

I think it's in equal numbers, at least in first world, Western countries. But, for sure, people have a much lower tolerance for misogyny than they do for misandry. Quite a lot of people don't even recognize when something is misandrist.

But to your question, you can't avoid them when you can't even tell if they're misandrist without speaking to them. People on the internet often go to the extreme ends of the political spectrum. Often nuanced debate isn't possible and name calling ends up being the norm. But real life is at least a bit different because you're face-to-face with someone and people aren't as brave in real life as they are online so they won't come across as narcissistic or psychopathic in real life.

Though, in real life, the average person cares more for a woman than they do for a man. Men are disposable. So don't overcomplicate things. If you come across a misandrist in real life, avoid them next time or ignore them. And I agree with what another poster just mentioned: "Find someone who's a good life partner, or a good business partner, or who entertains you, and it doesn't really matter what their gender politics are."

If 61% of American women identify as feminists that is extremely alarming. But then I wouldn't be surprised because modern American culture is dominated by feminist values. Where a woman being truly feminine in a man being genuinely masculine is demonized and vilified.

Modern society especially in countries like the United States of america, Canada and Great Britain as well as all of Scandinavia is extremely misandrist and misandrist than misogynistic.

As a man the best way to avoid misogynists in real life is to keep your head on the motherfucking swivel pay attention to the women around you use your head and see how they think and how they speak as well.

First of all when I hear misandry or misogyny my thought is " to what extend?" . Everyone can be a bit misandrist and a bit misogynist but if they slightly no one will bat an eye because it won't matter in the long run.

You can make the case that tradcons are misandrist too and many are. It always comes down to what extend.

So even if you say "99.9999%" of feminists are misandrist its no big deal for me. If you say they are hardcore misandrists then its a different deal.

I don't believe the majority of feminists are hardcore misandrists. They are just people who have been fed the lie that the only way to reach equality is through feminism and if someone is fighting for women's rights he is a feminist.

I once dated this very lovely woman. She had the charm, the smarts, the looks, you name it she had it. She could melt an iceberg with her smile. One of the most lovely human beings you would ever want to meet; or so I thought.

You see after dating for a long time and thinking she was the one. We would find ourselves around a different ethnicity (we were of the same skin color), where she would spout the most hateful things about that person, things that would make a grand wizard blush.

I was in shock! I knew this woman for along time and here she was racist as hell. I didn't know what to do in the moment, i took pause, and ended things with her once my shock wore off.

Here is the thing, there really is no way to tell who has been poisoned by the lies and cancer. Just as a racist can seem charming and perfect, so can a sexist. There are red flags to look out for, there are things to worry about. but keep in mind the term identify, could have just been used as a fad. That there are honestly more good women out there than bad.

Misandry is more prevalent in society; however, it is sadly acceptable in society.

So they surveyed every woman in America? They must have been busy. So that is already not true. But here’s the thing. Any black and white thinking/radical ideology will show signs of narcissistic traits. It’s a form of brainwashing. But there are plenty women who aren’t feminists, who can see the horribly skewed laws for divorce and reproduction, and who can see the idiocracy growing. Avoiding feminists will be impossible. But if your rights have been eroded, fight back. Every time a group felt they were losing rights, they fought to change society. They didn’t check out or avoid. Might take time, but gotta keep trying.

I don't know, I moved to Asia a few years ago. All I know about the west these days come from other people's experiences.

Most women in my hood have either never heard of feminism (local folks) or they recognize it for the extremist movement it's become. (the local expats).

ETA: I hear that South Korea is going through a massive social upheaval with feminism and the resulting cultural clusterfuck. Glad I don't live there.....I live in Thailand.

Feminism isn't about equality is about equity. Its like having a monkey and a fish in a fishbowl race to the top of the tree. The ref notices the fish's inferiority and decides its better to shoot the monkeys kneecaps with the starter pistol to even the odds. Everyone loses. Thats literally how society treats men nowadays. Some patriarchy. You can't avoid it. Its everywhere. Even in the subconscious minds of normal looking females. Who would be dumb enough not to rely on a bias system that benefits them in a crisis situation? Women are conditionally feminine. That means in a situation where its your life over hers she will leave you to die and passive aggressively demasculate you when you question her. Oh she's a strong independent woman who's equal to a man when its easy. When its life or death suddenly its "Women and children first." Moral obligations in regards to true equality is an option for women. But its a standard for men. If you ever wonder why 70% of prison and homeless population is men its because men cannot turn off the switch of accountability. When we fail to meet gender roles we are made an example of. When women as asked to be made an example of its abuse or misogyny. The best way to handle this is to just play along and keep quiet. Stand for men's rights through your actions. By being the best you can be. Don't make yourself a target to get made an example of. Just live your life to the best of your ability. Quietly disappear from the lives of those people who are brainwashed. Don't show any emotion. See a therapist so you can talk to someone. But try to make sure they are trustworthy.

But there's a lot of stuff that impacts YOU, personally, a whole lot more. Find someone who's a good life partner, or a good business partner, or who entertains you, and it doesn't really matter what their gender politics are.
