I work with 5 women and I am the only male. All 5 make more than me and we have some education/job skills. They did better at salary negotiations. Might be an outlier, but the gender gap doesn't apply 100% like some people lead on to.

There is no wage gap, that would be highly illegal.

We do have an earnings gap though. Feminists don't look at wages, they don't want to see wages, they look at the US Censuses aggregate earnings of men and women and lie that it's wage data. It's not.

Men earn more because they have to. Women are highly subsidized in the West and make different lifestyle choices. Also, women don't have to make more to attract a mate. Men however do. Women don't find men who make less than they do marriageable.

Nope. Wages are mostly dictated by things like work hours, hazard level, qualification demands, and such.

Guys work on all kinds of jobs.

Women tend to work in a more safe jobs. That limits the selection.

As a result, when you try to calculate overal income, you get a difference, that is a result of different sizes of selections of professions.

Also, I have to mention, that in some countries there is a list of jobs, that are considered too dangerous for women, and therefore, even if women tries to apply, she will be declined.

My country is one of them, and the list of professions banned for women is like 15 or 16 items.

If it was businesses would only hire women. But let's say yes that women do get paid less and companies acknowledge that. Imagine how bad of a worker a woman is in general compared to a man to not be hired at a lower rate.

Companies will pay for quality if it saves money in the end.

No it's not real. Countless studies have determined that any difference in avg male vs female wages are down to life choices (ie job choices, working hours etc). It's been thoroughly debunked but still gets trotted out as feminist mantra.

Just ask yourself this, in today's modern world of corporate greed, where every cent is fought over, do you really think that if women were generally cheaper to hire by 20-30%, that corporations wouldn't be falling over themselves to replace their male workers with female? After all they can add 20-30% to their bottom line overnight. They don't because it doesn't exist. It's been illegal for decades yet most feminists still bleat out this lie and blame it on "patriarchy", some mythical evil entity that doesn't have a structure, form or membership...it's a nebulous enemy to hang blame upon and play the eternal victim card.

Men work more dangerous jobs, take more risks, work shitty and hazardous environments, longer hours on avg. Women prefer the caring professions, part-time work, white collar jobs. When these factors are taken into account all serious studies state the proclaimed "gap" vanishes into insignificance.

When I see 50% women working garbage collection, oil rig work, cleaning the sewers etc...oh, yeah...that'll never happen!!!

Yes... and it's a negative value. There are industries that after an audit found women make more after controlling for all variables... and not just porn, there have been tech firms which found internally. But what feminists grow about is that women should be paid as if they were willing to do the dirty grueling jobs for the long hours... which statistically they are not.

Partially. Women earn less money on average, BUT they don’t earn less money on average for the same job. That’s where it’s wrong. Women work less, and they work lower paid jobs, that’s why they earn less money, not because of the patriarchy.

The pay gap is real, but the argument for it is completely disingenuous.

I used to work in the winter in a physical and dangerous six-figure job in the Dakotas. You know what I didn’t see to my left or right on the job site? Women.

Women travel less for work, work fewer hours, work less physical jobs, don’t work outside, and they also leave the workforce altogether at an earlier age.

A lot of ladies out there want the c-suite, but have no interest in doing the absolute shit jobs that men do which keep society moving.

It is not a “wage gap”, it is an earnings gap (see how they manipulate language?) not accounting for several variables including job choice, hours worked, danger of job etc. The “wage gap” doesn’t exist. It’s disingenuous as well because although men make more money, women control the wealth and usually are in control of money in families, plus a lot of women are out earning men in major cities. Women have wayyy more power and privilege in society than they realize, they are not systemically oppressed and given lower wages. If you could legally pay women less for the same job then everyone would hire women.

Women are also more agreeable on average and less likely to ask for a raise, bottom line is it’s FEMALE CHOICE that is the reason they earn less, NOT systemic sexism. 80+% of psychology majors are women, and they often don’t use their degrees, the majority of gender studies majors, teachers, hairdressers, social workers, are women. They simply choose lower paying jobs, they take more time off, they aren’t held accountable that it’s the inputs that make them earn less, not the system. They don’t produce the inputs that men produce, therefore they make less money, simple as.

It’s also annoying as fuck when women complain about the thoroughly debunked wage gap, because men literally give our money to women, sure we earn more but we have to earn more because we have more responsibilities and we have a burden of performance, women don’t have the same burden of performance, so they aren’t driven towards career excellence like men are because they don’t have to. We sacrafice a lot for women, and give them our money, why does it matter that men earn more? Why do we need women to compete with men and inject them into male spaces and jobs they probably don’t want to do just to prove women are valuable and “equal” to men. Being a good mother, a good teacher or wife is perfectly valuable in itself, why the fuck do they want to turn women into men.

It’s hurting society a lot because more and more working age women will be single, they squander their prime years, become strong and independent and then they become unmarriagable. Men don’t want a husband with tits, we want a wife. Morgan Stanley and the rise of the sheconomy predicts that half of working age women (25-45) will be single in the coming years. We can’t keep a society running with a bunch of single women, single mothers and no families. The fempowerment narrative and gynocentrism is destroying the west. They’re masculinizing women, and emasculating men. Women are allowed to live in this fantasy land and believe it’s societies fault and men’s fault that they make less money, that society should do the work for them to “level the playing field”, instead of taking accountability for their own personal choices. Women typically don’t derive happiness from careers either, so it’s disingenuous to act like this is an injustice or something when most women don’t want to be engineers and CEOS. Nobody is more miserable than a 40 year old, educated, unmarried woman with no children, feminism hurts women more than it helps them.

Men tend to be interested in things and solving problems, women tend to be interested in people. It just so happens that the fields men are more interested in tend to pay more. What about the workplace death gap? Nobody is complaining that there isn’t enough female construction workers, they only want more representation in the cushy, high status jobs without doing the work and competing like men do.

If you average everything out - yes. But there's a reason for that. The average working hours in my country for men is 37, and 33 for women. That alone accounts for a big difference, as it should. I'm sure there are many other things as well.

Men and women have different priorities and that's ok.

Women present wage gap something like this:
Women are payed less than men for the same job without any reason!
The truth is that women tend to be working easier, safer, and less paying jobs, work less overtime, and work less paying jobs, even in medical fields which are dominated by women, they tend to work in less paying fields like family doctors.

True: Women overall earn less than men. Women work fewer hours, tend to have shorter careers, work less overtime, chose lower paying careers, are more likely to work part time. Such choices result in less pay.

What is misrepresented is that the pay gap compares equal work. It doesn’t. There is also no proof discrimination plays any notable part. The points mentioned above have been shown to be responsible.

Yes! Openly talk about salary! The whole "it's no one's business" line that management shoves down your throat like an infected weiner is so employees don't compare salaries. When employees do that, the low earners tend to ask for raises or leave for companies that will pay the higher salary. Case in point, I work for the state, so my salary is public knowledge. I was talking about pay with a colleague and found out they were making significantly more than me. Since we are on a matrix, we should be at the same pay. It turns out that the central HR office didn't process my Masters degree six months ago, and I never got my bump in pay. Since I have it on record that I did my part, they owe me back pay.

Your pay is NOT your employer doing you a solid. It is NOT a gift from them. Your pay is the settlement of a debt your employer OWES you.

My response to feminists talking about the wage gap is this:

If you can find a place where a woman is being paid less than a man, for the same job, at the same hours; simply because she's a woman, that's a real problem. Complain to the fair work department in your area; you'll have my moral support. That's illegal, as it should be.

Complaining to me will accomplish nothing, though. I'm not an employer.

If that's *genuinely* what your feminism is about, we don't have a problem. It's when you start whining about 'patriarchy', 'toxic masculinity', and other terms designed to vilify and demonize men and boys that you and I part ways.

I mean every word of it, too. If the wage gap is real (in either direction), it's something to fight. If it isn't, then what are they talking about? Either way, I'm not the one to talk to about it.

Alrite look, there is no wage gap. Both me and my wife worked literally the same jobs a couple of times & we got paid the same amount per hour. Only when when our pay checks came is when the net pay was different because she had less taxes come out.

The problem with talking openly about your salaries is that a lot of people don't understand. You may be able to justify your higher salary, but that's no guarantee that your co-worker is going to agree with it. Talking about your salary would create a lot of strife in your life.

The CDC (British organization, commonwealth development corporation) has found that the wage gap is a hoax taken from the total average of all the wages of everyone of each gender, and that is a total of money earned from a job, bonuses overtime etc. a number of factors like men working more dangerous jobs, working longer, retiring later, etc cause this gap in the total average, and it has even been found that there is sometimes the opposite, that is women getting paid more for the same work as men.
