I'm not even opposed to this necessarily . What I'm opposed to is people lying that men have it easier. Acting like men don't regularly get shit on. And the complete lack of respect for men who are willing to stay and die so women don't have to. People who are that disrespectful should be the ones staying.

Male conscription is and has always been an inevitable outcome of war. Even in countries that don't have a draft or that have some kind of guarantee of equality between men and women, when push comes to shove the government will give itself emergency powers and use them to force men to fight and die, and it will likely enjoy popular support in doing so.

The answer isn't to campaign for equal treatment, the end of the draft, equality of the sexes, etc. because any victories there will be unwound in times of conflict. We must simply recognize that men will always make the greatest sacrifices for society. Western women have seized this label for themselves during a period of unprecedented peace time, and it was a mistake to let them do it. They aren't an oppressed class and their freedom depends implicitly on the fact that in bad times, men are the first to go.

Should men around the world enjoy some privileges during peace time to account for the fact that our rights will be taken away during war? Only seems fair.

I see similar posts about Ukraine weekly, and I understand the frustration. However, the truth is that men have it just as shit in Russia. I'm not saying this in a way its a competition to where men have it the worst, I'm just saying men have it pretty bad everywhere in this regard and I guarantee you any country in the world will do the same thing to its men in the time of a war, when a lot is at stake. The reality is that men still have to be "protectors", while women don't have to perform their traditional gender role anymore in several countries. Let's hope we can achieve world peace so men don't die for imperialists anymore.

Sounds like they need war victims who are more sympathetic than they currently have. Is the popular support for Ukraine waning in the West or something? Obviously, people will be outraged if disabled civilians are killed, but it appears that Ukraine is still only willing to risk the lives of men in this PR move. Unfortunately, the spectre of "Women and children first" always comes back in full force once an actual threat becomes real.
