God I hate it when feminists do this.

Me-“Men have issues too right?”

Feminists-“Yes”

Me-“You acknowledge those issues right?”

Feminists-“Yes”

Me-“How come I never see feminists fight for them?”

Feminists-“Ummm”

Me-“This is why we need men’s liberation movements”

Feminists-“Now hold on....”

Feminists think feminism is a one size fits all set of equality when it isn’t even close to that.

[–]probably_a_squid 23 points24 points25 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

F: Come join feminism, where we talk about gender equality!

M: Ok, I'd like to talk about some men's issues.

F: Don't derail the discussion. If you want to talk about men's issues, go make your own group.

M: Ok I'll go to this group/forum/sub where I can talk about men's issues without blaming men or making women the main victims.

F: misandric screeching

[–]lasciate 19 points20 points21 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

"All men's issues stem from the oppression of women and the evils of toxic masculinity. If we stop oppressing women and get rid of toxic masculinity men's issues will be solved somehow."

[–]Neko404 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

How would resolving toxic masculinity stop female teachers from abusing their students sexually?

[–]MagicTire 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

But, they aren't sexually abusing their students. They're just 'sex romps'. Sounds like fun! /s

That one is just patriarchy

Fuck Vice. I’ve seen just as much hate posted by feminists. Apply that standard equally.

[–]Lethn 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Thanks, looks like their standard propaganda, take posts from places like incel and then claim that MensRights posters are like this as well. Can anyone confirm whether these people have ever actually screenshotted or given examples of MRAs being 'misogynistic'? I'm honestly wondering. The reason being is because I think they're always avoiding giving examples because they know people will do what they've been doing so far and search up the actual sub and realise it's filled with very reasonable people.

If they're still spamming this I think they're desperate because the subscriber numbers and so on are either steady or growing I think a similar version of this was posted possibly only a few months ago or at least by another media outlet.

[–]jeff_the_nurse 48 points49 points50 points 8 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

A question no feminist I've asked has ever been able to answer: What is misogynistic about men's rights?

[–]desderon 30 points31 points32 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Mensrights is anti-feminist (mostly, some are still under the delusion that feminism is salvageable) and feminism is the source of income of a lot of these "professionals". Attacking feminism is attacking their source of income, hence it is misogynistic.

[–]qwertyWerty2 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So like miso-eco-gynist? Can we trim a syllable to make it more catchy? Sound bites are all 20th century media can handle...

[–]KingRobotPrince 17 points18 points19 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

It's a simple equation for them:

Feminism stands for equality for women. If you aren't a feminist then you must not want women to have equal rights. If you do not want women to have equal rights you are a misogynist.

It's kind of the same as how oppressive regimes use communism to control people and deny them any sort of rights. "We are the party of the people. If you are against us you are against the people. If you are against the people we will destroy you."

[–]Noah4224 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Kinda weird, given only, what, about 20% of women identify as feminist in the US. Does that mean 80% of women hate women?

[–]KingRobotPrince 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Does that mean 80% of women hate women?

It's quite possible that they consider women who aren't outwardly feminist to be suffering from internalised misogyny caused by their upbringing within the patriarchy. But that's only speculation.

It's tough because such a small percentage pretty much speaks for all women.

[–]qwertyWerty2 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

How'd they get elected with only 20% of the vote? Is that NGO mathematics?

[–]Pastasky 11 points12 points13 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don't actually believe this, and also note that various feminists will have different perspectives on why.

Men are not at all (or so rarely) oppressed by virtue of their gender, and/or any oppression that they do face is already accounted for under feminist theory. Thus the only possible function of the movement is to exist in opposition to feminism and the welfare of women and so is misogynistic.

Of course I think this is nonsense.

[–]JebberJabber 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It is not the MRM, it is some MRAs.

Same with feminism, it needs rescuing from feminists. Maybe men should run feminism for a while.

[–]desderon 8 points9 points10 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This subreddit is sneaky like that.

White supremacist? Lol So I guess that I'm 25% inferior, or are mixed raced people considered completely non-White?

Either way, Hell yes this subreddit is thriving. Because we have facts rather than baseless attacks against the opponents

[–]JayBopara 16 points17 points18 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

That's what makes our misandric opponents hate us. Not because we espouse hate or are Nazis, but because we provide the factual reality that it is indeed their ideology of feminism and misandry which is the problem. That's why they hate us.

[–]hensizhexiaoyang 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Read up on Michael Kimmel. He's a Sociologist who suggested that Men's Rights should be seen as White Rights as Straight Rights, etc.

He's big on the idea that hate towards the supposed 'dominant group' simply cannot happen, and any appearance of it is loss of privilege.

Many a nonsense Sociological definition of SJWs have been proposed by him.

I'm pretty sure he's on the documentary The Red Pill, and didn't come off to well.

[–]JayBopara 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Hey hzy. Yes, I'm familiar with the work of Kimmel. He is a complete idiot who profits from misandric feminism. So of course people like him would be upset at anyone who points out that their false narrative is indeed false.

Comment on r/feminism threat about the assault of Terry Crews - "You should ask the MRAs why they are not talking about it though. I'll tell you why, because the guy is black."

My response a post about him had 1,296 upvotes no longer available.

[–]HeForeverBleeds 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

lol Just goes to show how much feminists actually know about MRA's. The first place I heard about the assault against Terry Crews was this subreddit

[–]qwertyWerty2 24 points25 points26 points 8 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Black MGTOW here (dunno if there are black NAZIs?!?). Raised by a woman. Suffered for it. Made the realization that women aren't better people than men (worse in many ways because traditional sex roles shield them from reality).

Thanks to feminism growing up in the same home as your father is not the norm (4 out if 5 American black children grow up in a home without their father) among American blacks. In 2 generations.

You don't speak for me. MGTOW has nothing to do with Nazi or any other crap you're claiming without evidence. Going your own way is a rational response to feminism running roughshod over balance by only addressing law and ignoring the mountains of obligations of men that are cultural.

Like many others I came here after a divorce raping. I don't believe the system is reformable though I nurse hope it can be better for the son the feminist incentives took away from me.

[–]lasciate 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

...feminism running roughshod over balance by only addressing law and ignoring the mountains of obligations of men that are cultural

They ignore law that unfairly burdens men, too. Anything that doesn't conform to man as oppressor/woman as oppressed is ignored, minimized, and/or excused.

[–]PlastIconoclastic 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You are heard. I’m a white guy. I’m sure I have more to talk about with a guy who has been through family court bullshit than a male feminist. This group is not about hate, but advocacy for men. Speak up for yourself and others. We need to be stronger together instead of suffering in silence.

[–]just5this 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Raised by a woman. Suffered for it. Made the realization that women aren't better people than men (worse in many ways because traditional sex roles shield them from reality).

Switch the gender and that statement seems a bit iffy. I don’t think this sub is a hate or misogynistic group, but the road to hell is paved with good intentions. This is the pitfall feminism is falling and it’ll happen here if we keep blinders on like they have.

Four comments in, and nobody has said WTF where is this alleged quote from? There is a typo in the first line which suggests it is not from a quality source.

MensRights was not said to be Nazi. That was a separate sentence.

Taken literally MR is presumably included under "violent content".

Maybe that was intended But that description was a general label, it can not be expected to exhaustively describe everything which is to be suppressed. So maybe we are not even violent, just gentle peace-loving misogynist assholes.

[–]ThePigmanAgain 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

suggests it is not from a quality source.

Correct -- it is from Vice.

[–]JebberJabber 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Agreed. Vice has done some good investigations but overall the site is populist clickbait. Same as Buzzfeed.

Thanks, that makes sense now.

"Communities focused on this content and users who post such [incel] content" are banned". That is more than just banning /Incels, it is banning imitators. I just checked, /Truecels is now gone too.

SelfHarmPics is gone too, for effectively encouraging self harm. It did good but I suspect more harm because people got competitive.
The text sub /Selfharm is still there for support.

Community mental health is not the site admin's job, I think banning /Incels will save some vulnerable young guys from getting locked into a belief system which will harm them and repel women though.
But if that was going to be the motivation for banning a sub the pro-anorexia subs might be a more important target.

[–]Collective82 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It’s to good of click bait for people to pass up

[–]PowerToAnnihilate 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

[–]KingRobotPrince 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Here's a good example of how wrong they are:

Language is another aspect of indoctrination. To that end, these misogyny clusters have created glossaries for their acronyms, offer cheat sheets, and have their own language patterns. The jargon of misogyny includes “hamster” (a “female” who jumps through mental hoops to avoid cognitive dissonance), "AWALT" (all women are like that), “roastie” (a repulsive word comparing roast beef to female genitalia), “pussy pass” (women are let off for illegal behavior), alpha/beta distinctions in attractiveness, and so on. The indoctrination is further enforced by the positive reinforcement and punishment of up-votes and down-votes.

Nothing that is mentioned here is used on this sub. This sub has nothing to do with any of the actual misogynist subs that use this language or have these ideas. They are simply being sensationalist. It's just fashionable to lump men's rights in with the others.

[–]Brusanan 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

"Violent content". And of course to the SJWs that run Reddit, words are violence.

[–]hensizhexiaoyang 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

More worryingly would be thoughts like this one about the Youtuber Blaire White apparently getting attacked (some say she instigated by crossing a protest barrier, many don't care) on r/gamerghazi.

Even if White wasn't a scheming, lying, conniving pile of garbage, and she really did get attacked instead of instigating it herself by crossing a barrier, like...so fucking what? I am sick to death of people having an utter, utter disconnect between physical individual violence between two people and structural violence

"Structural violence" in this context is considered more serious than physical violence. You are part of "structural violence" and get attacked, the attacker may still be considered the victim.

[–]Brusanan 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, absolutely ridiculous. Imagined "systemic oppression" justifies actual violence towards the imagined oppressors by the pretend-oppressed.

[–]qwertyWerty2 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"throw something up somewhere so we can say they're ..."

"But it's an opinion. They lump MRAs in hoping for guilt by association."

"So what? Nobody reads past the headline. It's a fig leaf to cover ourselves."

"But race has nothing to do with sex. And MRAs aren't invading Poland."

"So what? We put them in the same paragraph and nobody will question it. It's in the URL too."

[–]lemproplayer -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Reddit is retarded why are they censoring freedom of speech I get you don’t agree with these people morally but fuck off its part of the constitution

[–]WmJuiceGuy 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Cuz the Constitution isn't Reddit's rules, so they can do as they wish, regardless of how one sided

[–]lemproplayer 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yes but it’s a form of communication and idea sharing, no company should be able to take away freedom of speech and expression

[–]WmJuiceGuy 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Except that it's exactly that, a company. Which means that they can. Reddit is a privilege, not a right. Therefore censorship will be a thing.

They aren't taking away your right to free speech, just the privilege to post it on Reddit

[–]fasdfsadfasdsdfa 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Don't worry, word on the street is reddit is on its last legs.

[–]lasciate 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They just got another round of financing according to the same source OP's quote came from. How is it on its last legs?

[–]KingRobotPrince 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I wonder how long until MRAs are labelled "fascist Nazis" and people are encouraged to attack them?

It's so sad that feminists seem to have this "ultimate solution" idea and if anyone doesn't support feminism they are automatically misogynists. It's so ironically fascist and narrow minded.

[–]vestrise 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Perhaps one could even call it a "final solution"?

Oh yeah, I went there. It was too perfect of an opportunity.

[–]qwertyWerty2 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What's the name of the source? Virtue news?

Wait, didn't VICE news just get accused of being a hotbed of sexism and sexual harassment?

Maybe they're trying to distract attention from all the VICE news sexual harassment accusations?

[+]SawinBunda -12 points-11 points-10 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It kind of is.

About half of the content here isn't really about men's right's, it's more about obsessing over stupid clickbait articles of women saying or doing stupid stuff.

You made this sub into a low effort outrage place. It's undermined by incels and alt-rights. It's rarely about discussions, it's mainly about your feels.

Just look at the comments here. Everyone is just pointing fingers at women in general, all triggered by one screenshot of one person writing inflammatory drivel. No source, no context, you don't care. You get mad and you enjoy it.

Time to put some effort in or stay irrelevant, get overrun by the radicals and get deleted. Up to you, guys.

[–]ByronsLastStand 9 points10 points11 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

By that same logic, Reddit should also shut down quite a lot of the feminist subreddits (omg men, etc etc). While there will always be some clickbait and sub-par posts, most of the discussion here is genuine discussion of relevant and important issues. Plus, aren't men's feelings relevant? If we feel discriminated against, shouldn't we be allowed to talk about that?

[–]Dwarf90 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

By this logic Reddit must shut down leftist radicals like Marxists and communists. But it will never do so, simply because a shitload of redditors are commies.
