Men have fewer legal rights than women, such as the right to separate sex from parenthood, equal treatment in criminal and family courts, male-targeted wording of serious crimes, and bodily integrity.

Misandry isn't a "woman" thing, it's societal and institutional. Besides, just because someone is level headed doesn't mean they don't hold biggoted views - feminists will often explain class warfare between men and women with men winning in very calm tones.

It's not as channeled as it is on social media, but it is noticeable in real life. I mainly notice the entitlement it brings: I remember overhearing freshman girls in my uni saying that they got accepted thanks to an incentive program in my country (I'm in STEM). Yet there's no incentive for men to get accepted into female-prevalent courses like nursing school. No one seems to mind, especially the feshman girls in question.

I am glad you've had a bette experience than most. Quite literally every awful shitty thing that's happened to me in m life has been perpetrated by a woman. Starting as far back as my highly abusive mother right up till now with my vindictive and spiteful wife.

I spent my whole life being careful with women being good to them and honestly did so because I was often in positions of authority and could very quickly find myself in seriously hot water for doing nothing. When the role was flipped I found the same to be the case and fear ruled the day for me on most occasions. To summarize, I'm glad you have had better experiences with women, sadly though you appear to be in the minority in that respect.

Only when I'm not watching the TV, movies or the news. Or daring to attempt Pair-bonding in the Public Square... Then the misandry almost drops to zero. There's still the matters of completing any/all tasks that are "gross, sweaty, smelly, icky", or involve spiders of any kind. That would practically (but not entirely) eliminate the misandrism...Nah, still wouldn't be gone...Just not "witnessed".

Misandry is perpetrated by all sexes and genders, not just women or feminists.

And obviously I am affected by it. Both, as someone growing up in a society that has us internalize misandristic biases which we might at times struggle to get rid of as well as a boy/man falling victim to it to varying degrees on a daily basis.

I think it's entirely dependent on who you interact with in real life, and also where you live. Personally, I've found that the higher educated, the more likely they are to be willing to have an open discussion. I also live in the UK, which is slightly less radical than the USA, where a lot of these issues crop up more.

The problem is, many cases are less vocal, and simply parts of society, such as issues around mens health, mens reproductive rights, family court, etc. And attempts at improving those tend to clash with feminism, which in many cases goes completely against those attempts.

In my actual live, it is seldom, although many women and men have more compassion for women than for men. The worst I had was some discrimination (job, military service) and an openly loudly man-hating female primary school teacher.

This weekend at a family gathering a 60 year old women told a ninety year old women "never should a woman give money to a man". All the women laughed.

That's as bad as it get's IRL for me. But they are not really second wave feminists. They are from before that time. Even the 60 year old was a stay at home mom all her life.

With women earning and working as much as men, this sort of thinking will stop eventually. It may take years of fighting for it on our part, but the day of men supporting ex-wives forever is coming to an end.

In India there has been a rise of recordings of male abuse by women, starting with the Lucknow girl. The major highlight in that is that the cops are nearby while women beat the living crap out of poor men - something you don't see when the genders are reversed.

Ehhhhhh.... no not really. For one thing on Reddit you can see women when they are just talking to each other without thinking about the audience and .... yeah ... it's a lot worse than normal in real life too that way.

For another thing women in real life are pretty fucking bad, even if they do know there's a man about.

And I guess men can be bad too, but the women can get deeply misandrist and then try and shrug it off as a joke -- if they even bother to do that. More likely they'll claim you're the asshole for making an issue of what they said.

There is only one person who is a blatant man hater. Most of my friends identify as feminists. So no blatant misandry but feminism itself promotes misandry. Like ignoring men's issues or blaming everything on men. Though I don't get into ideological discussions IRL as it is scary be an anti-feminist and someone who supports men's rights when I'm surrounded by feminists.

But for example the constant implication that my needs my problems and my suffering is less important or doesnt exist or even is a bad thing to care about, i consider this misandry.

The misandry doesnt need to come in the form of insulted screamed at my face, is the constant devalueing, disregarding, gaslighting of my as an equally human equally important problems, needs and suffering just as any woman problem, needs or suffering is.
