First of all I’d like to apologise for any spelling mistakes or poor sentence structure. I am a high school student and attend a school in Australia, I am part of many stem related clubs, in extension classes for all stem related areas and have won my school trophies in stem related competitions. Through my time in high school there is one common occurrence that really frustrates me, our schools stem club is currently filled with all boys this is not because we discourage girls from joining it’s purely because they don’t want to join and it’s really frustrating seeing all girl stem excursions or girl empowering math excursions, it leaves the team frustrated as we never get opportunities like this, the school system is pandering to gender instead of skill set and I strongly believe that if this keeps going more and more boys are going to give up in the field of stem. I strongly encourage we try to do something about this wether it be contacting your local school or trying to set up opportunities for male stem enjoyers

Edit: this is not the first sign of straight up gender bias as In 2020 boys were not allowed to gather in groups more than 5, this rule was not implemented because of covid(Due to our state having no cases or restrictions) and it was only implemented for the boys. At the time I didn’t realise how wrong this was but luckily the boys along with a small percentage of teachers refused to comply and the rule faded out fairly quickly
