Now this is real justice

[–]Vista_Seagrape 94 points95 points96 points 5 years ago (26 children) | Copy Link

False accusations need to carry serious consequences. The argument that it will deter victims from coming forward makes no sense, because people will only be sentenced if it's proven they are intentionally lying. It won't be that people are sentenced just because the accused wasn't found guilty, there has to be proof the accusation was malicious and intentional and false.

[–]pete7201 11 points12 points13 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly. Give her at least 10 years for something like this at a minimum. If someone lies and the accused person goes to jail, and is later found innocent, for every year the innocent person spends in jail, the liar should spend 5 years in jail in addition to the 10 year sentence for the lying.

[+]NameGiver0 -36 points-35 points-34 points 5 years ago (24 children) | Copy Link

False accusations need to carry serious consequences.

It will never happen in a country where women are allowed to vote.

[–]Shadezyy 27 points28 points29 points 5 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

I dunno, Republicans have proven that anyone can be tricked into voting against their own interests.

[–]pete7201 -1 points0 points1 point 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

How so?

I don’t think you have a good idea of what a Republican is or who typically votes for them

It's bold to say that in this generally pro Trump sub, I hope your karma hole is lubed up.

[–]Frosty-Gate-8094 4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This is not a pro-trump group dude.
That was r/donald. It was banned.

We know that both republicans and democrats will screw men, no matter who is in power.

The fight aims at making public aware. Politicians are never going to bother either ways.

[+]scyth3s -7 points-6 points-5 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah this sub is pretty pro Trump though. It's died down a bit, but it's still there.

[–]2137gangsterr 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Pro trump is precisely anti republican LOL.

[–]scyth3s -3 points-2 points-1 points 5 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Not even close. The republican party base literally chose him, and by more votes than any republican in history. Everything he did was mainstream republican goals, he didn't change anything about the party platform except for its stance on Russia.

He is as republican as you can get.

The only difference is he didn't try to hide the xenophobia, he said the quiet parts too loudly.

[–]2137gangsterr 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

?? And since when republican voters equal republican politicians?

[–]scyth3s -1 points0 points1 point 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

What do you think he did that isn't popular with a literal record number of republican voters? Donald Trump is the most accurate version or what republican voters want. That's what they told us with their votes. The current party has never seen that level of enthusiasm before.

He is what Republicans want, and the party members may be annoyed because he played the game too loudly, but he is still very much playing the same game.

[–]2137gangsterr 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I'm doing nothing of the sort. Simply stating that while the sex that benefits from the power of false accusations continue to benefit from it, they're never going to relinquish the power. They'll vote out of office anyone who tries to enforce it and slander them as misogynist. You know they will. It's very...human of them. It's a fact I've simply accepted. We can't pretend reality is other than it is.

Show me where I've said we strip anything from anyone. I don't see the issue with pointing out this fact.

The way forward is how do we cope with the fact that "false accusations carrying serious consequences" will never happen?

All I can think of is educating men on the dangers of women who we all know receive preferential treatment by the legal system. That's the only practical solution I see.

[–]Cindorian 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Then you really don't understand the basic human mind as we can all work togethor towards equality instead of separation, it's just a matter of education for most.

I mean, good, but why is evil in quotes? I'd say it fits the bill pretty snug

ETA that manipulative, malicious and destroy (in regard to what she attempted to do to his life) are also in quotes in the article -.-

[–]horonlapsi 9 points10 points11 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

isnt destroying someones live and having that person rot in prison for atleast 5 years evil?

[–]Stephen_Morgan 18 points19 points20 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Probably actually quoting someone.

[–]introspectthis 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

I mean, yeah with some if them yes, but even the times it was that's like if someone called you an idiot and someone said, "I think they're just speaking words with their mouth". Like, yes that's correct, but everyone knows that wasn't the point of contention.. I'm less inclined to believe that when its 'quoted' within a quote, making the end result sound like they're being intentionally disingenuous. Like, I'll make an example.

Let's say I said that "their extra quoting was a harmless mistake". But then AsanineArticles writes up on the story and frames it like: Reddit user IntrospectThis, had this to say on the matter: "their extra quoting was a 'harmless' mistake". Kinda gives off the same vibe as someone making air quotes while they say something to illustrate that they think the wording is wrong or extreme

[–]KomraD1917 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

News is supposed to be distinct from editorial content. Saying evil without quotes is editorial. So is your air quotes example. Those would both be wrong.

The only assumption to make of a journalist is quote attribution when they use quotes like that, unless it's labeled as an editorial.

[–]introspectthis 4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yeah, what this woman did was actual premeditated evil.. Which begs the question of why the need to put quotation marks around evil

[–]TacticusThrowaway 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's a newspaper, and they were quoting the judge.

[–]afroschlan 50 points51 points52 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Wow.. 4 years.. for a woman.. that means that was taken as some serious shit. Surely a man would have been served 20 but it is what it is..

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Technically, it was a (discretionary) life sentence.

She'll likely be out on good behaviour after serving the mandatory 4 years.

[–]incisive_shadow55 68 points69 points70 points 5 years ago (46 children) | Copy Link

Not surprised. The legal system has been dominated by feminists for years now. No doubt she thought she’d get away with it.

[+]melissarose007 -55 points-54 points-53 points 5 years ago (28 children) | Copy Link

Examples please? Statistics that show that "feminists dominate the legal system"? Im inclined to believe the person who commented that old bureaucrats dominate the legal system. However im open to facts that prove me wrong....

[–]incisive_shadow55 53 points54 points55 points 5 years ago (24 children) | Copy Link

There are plenty. I'll stick to one example that is relevant to this case. Notice how when the police caught her in the act of lying (a very serious criminal offense) all she needed to do was make a false rape allegation to get them once again off her back and back onto the man. This kind of unlawful reasoning is due to the feminist narrative being pushed into the criminal justice system for purely political means. What they should have done is questioned her credibility (seeing as she had already lied) but instead they went straight back to blaming the man. This kind of double standard would never exist the other way round.

False rape allegations happen far too often also. The studies we do have place the false rape allegation rate at between 8%-43%. There have also been studies placing the false rape allegation rate as high as 50%, 60% and even one at 90%. Though there are limitations to these studies they clearly demonstrate that false allegations happen a lot.

Despite this, the feminist narrative is to manipulate the statistics and make the false claim that only 2% or less of rape allegations are false. Prosecutors and police know this is a complete bastardisation of the data as the 2% figure refers only to the women who are formally charged. In the overwhelming majority of cases prosecutors refuse to charge women as they claim this would prevent "genuine victims from coming forward". There is no formal data to actually back this claim up yet it is routinely spouted by politicians, prosecutors and law enforcement. Why do they do this? Simple. These are radical feminist arguments. And the reason establishment authority figures perpetuate these myths is because there is an overrepresentation of feminists in these professions.

The old school bureaucrats you talk about are largely forced to capitulate to this narrative. It is true there are still plenty of them but they are all still spewing this narrative in fear of negative professional consequences if they do not tow the line.

[–]pervertedgiant 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well said and very accurate.

[+]melissarose007 -17 points-16 points-15 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I understand what you are saying. However i am very interested in the actual proof and statistics.

I AM NOT A FEMINIST. I SUPPORT MENS RIGHTS.

i am just genuinely curious about where this information comes from.

Based on my research the claims that feminists run the legal system is not supported.

73 percent of judges in the American justice system are old white males.

Youre telling me that the majority of the majority is supporting a narrative they dont believe in?

I believe that all humans are capable of standing for their beliefs. And i do not believe that more than less of the 73 percent are feminist puppets.

Its just not logical.

Im not saying that there arent NUMEROUS cases where men were treated unfairly because they are men.. there are. But there are also NUMEROUS cases of unfair treatment due to race, socioeconomic standing, and even unfair treatment for women.

Its scary to think about how many innocent people are serving time. Its been something i have held issue against most of my adult life.

Butttttttttttt........

I also believe that making statements like the one i questioned sound a lot like the feminists making absurd claims on how the system is against them. Especially seeing as there are no statistics or even overwhelming anecdotal evidence to support the claim that our legal system is essentially "over run by feminists."

I think the system sucks for everyone, honestly. Men and women alike. Lol

Unfair ABSOLUTELY. Over run by feminist ideals .... Unlikely.

[–]Frosty-Gate-8094 6 points7 points8 points 5 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Based on my research the claims that feminists run the legal system is not supported.

73 percent of judges in the American justice system are old white males.

Feminism is a political ideology. It has nothing to with a person's race or gender...

How do you know that those 73% 'white males' are not feminists?

Feminism is a mainstream political ideology. There is a reasonable chance that 90% of all politicians and bureaucrats are 'feminists'...

That means feminism dominates mainstream politics. (The evidence is everywhere to be seen).

The only issue I have is that feminism isnt a 'gender equality' movement. Its a 'women's rights' movement.
There is no equivalent 'men's right movement'.

I appreciate your concern about men's rights.
But denying that 'feminism doesn't dominate mainstream politics' is like denying 'water is wet'.

There is no counter-narrative to feminism in mainstream politics today. That's what we MRAs are trying to change.

[+]melissarose007 -20 points-19 points-18 points 5 years ago (20 children) | Copy Link

Also, based on your comment history, i do think you have a negative bias towards women. And i, do not have a negative bias towards men. I have an amazing loving husband, and we are equal in our relationship. I have to strong smart sons who are trustworthy and respectful. All the men in my life see women as humans with equal rights and equal responsibility for their actions. I support mens rights because they deserve to be treated fair and with compassion. And they treat everyone fair and with compassion.

Women did not ruin your life. The men in my life know that no one can ruin your life if you do not let them. And if someone of a specific gender or race treated you poorly, it does not mean that everyone of that gender or race is the same.

Im going to make a huge assumption and say Im sorry that you had such negative experiences with the women in your life. If that is not why you have such a negative bias against women, then idk what to tell you. Either way it think self reflection is your best bet.

I say all that because i stand for mens rights. And people like you are the reason i worry it is not going to be taken seriously when my boys need it to be.

Best of luck to you.

[–]incisive_shadow55 24 points25 points26 points 5 years ago (19 children) | Copy Link

Notice everyone how she attempts to flip the blame back onto me.

Not once did she even attempt to respond to the example and facts I stated. Instead she set up a straw man argument and attacked that instead.

She claims to be “for men’s rights” yet doesn’t seem to understand the basis of what we are fighting for.

Her response is a classic example of covert female shaming of men who try and talk about the issues men face. These same women will then turn around and blame men for not opening up after they have been shamed. Nothing new here.

[+]melissarose007 -11 points-10 points-9 points 5 years ago (18 children) | Copy Link

No. You are damaged. Not all men. You. And the way you phrased this comment shows exactly what i spoke of.

I stated i understood your claims. I never disputed them.

I gave my statistics and you said nothing.

I then made an assumption of YOUR character based on your comment history. Thank god you are not all men

You are the reason feminists exist. You are exactly like them except the male version. Lol. Its amazing you cant see it.

[–]incisive_shadow55 20 points21 points22 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

And the shaming continues.

You say you “understood” my claims? And never disputed them? This suggests you accept what I said as fact. So why is there no acknowledgement of this? Why was your immediate response to set up straw man and attack that? You got rather defensive. Interesting.

You see us red pilled guys see this kind of thing all the time. You say you are for men’s rights. Yet what you really mean is you are for men’s rights only as long as your female privileges are not threatened or exposed.

And thank god not all men are like me? Sweetheart you are in the wrong subreddit. Look at your downvotes. You aren’t going to be able to recruit simps and white knights here. Nice try.

[–]melissarose007 -2 points-1 points0 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Why would i want to recruit any one? Im stating my opinion. I dont care about downvotes or how any one this sub feels about my opinion. I asked for proof as to why i should believe your statement and you barely provided any. And i acknowledged and accepted what you said, but your ideas are not what i asked for. If you would have presented stats and proof, i would have thanked you, and worked my new found knowledge into my life. But you didnt. And From what i can gather this sub is an anti woman hive mind.

I stated facts and statistics. I believe men being accused of rapes they didnt commit is heinous. And its not right how often it happens. And my heart breaks for the innocent men who had their lives ruined by people like the woman in this story.

But i also believe that the government is not run by feminists. And i also believe you have a strangely low opinion of women. I also believe that you are not the majority. And i believe you are NOT a good voice for mens rights. People not part of a hive mind agree. Speaking of down votes, every other sub down votes you hell when you present these ideas the way you do. If your ideas are only accepted in one place that is filled with people just like you, that holds no water in the rest of the world. From what i can gather, you are closed minded, and very fragile.

Whats fucked up is i agreed with A LOT of what you said, until you started talking just like a feminist "woe is me, woe is men the whole system has been infiltrated by people who are out to get me." Its talk like that that makes me not associate with feminism.

There are other subs that advocate for mens rights in a much more knowledgeable and compassionate manner. You would look like a fool there. Men like you make mens rights look like a joke. And as a mother of 2 boys, that scares me.

Mens rights is men not being punished for being men. Mens rights is not hating women. Mens rights is not making ridiculous claims with no evidence to back them up. How can you enact change when youre fighting an imaginary battle? Like that one person said to you on another sub, you seem brainwashed and cultish in you wild conspiracies.

The way our society treats men needs to change. (I can say the same about how it treats women and children too, but thats way above your pay grade lol).. and you are DEFINITELY part of the problem.

I dont need you to agree with me. This is the internet and this post popped up on my popular feed, i saw your comment and was curious if there really were any statistics that supported your statement. All you provided was a couple of good points, but mostly crazed rambling. No proof. No statistics.

I can believe in mens rights and NOT believe strange conspiracies spouted off by someone who is deliriously hate filled.

I can advocate for mens rights and still believe you are not the norm. I can believe are not a good representation of a good man. Believing in mens rights doesn't mean there arent delusional hate filled men complaining loudly over the internet. Just because i dont like YOU doesnt mean i believe you dont have rights. You are sorry excuse for a human. But you deserve rights. You dont desrve to be discriminated against. You deserve to feel safe in this world. And just because i dont like you, doesnt mean i want you to suffer. Thats believing in mens rights

I know thats hard for you to understand because you seem to have made a judgment on ALL the women in the world based off the actions of a few.

Im not like you. I know you suck. But i also know most men dont.

People clearly don’t think so. Take a hint and read up on some articles that state feminism in in the legal system. Keep in mind different countries have different systems.

Yo, not tryna get into this argument but I found an article here

Try googling "gender bias" instead of feminism and you'll find more. This one doesn't specifically deal with instances of rape allegation but my phone is at 4% so I don't wanna use it searching Google links. Good luck!

Sweet. Thank you. Ill check out that article and definitely Google gender bias instead. Appreciate your help!

Let's prove my position right now. Please link us to a single feminist post where you have attacked a feminist in the same way you have attacked me.

Go on, we'll be waiting.

[–]melissarose0070 points 5 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I have called out lots of people for being garbage on the internet. Ive been on reddit a lot, but there was an argument i had with some lady who was making claims similar to yours except she is a woman.

You wanna hear a story? You keep saying i dont believe in mens rights because i dont like you....

So, story time.

I was with my ex for 10 years. It was an awful cycle of a relationship. Then i got pregnant. We gave one last ditch effort but, it was a no go. After i had the kid, he took me to court for custody.

I got a lawyer.

I had a better home than him, a better job than him, and no criminal record like him.

My lawyer proceeded to get me to clean my ex out. Was trying to make me say hes a dead beat because he lives with his mom. Hes not. He takes care of her. Tried to get me to say he doesnt work because he is a handy man with little paper work to prove it. He works his ass off. Tried to get me to say hes an alcoholic because he got a dui when he was 21. Hes not an alchoholic. He was a kid. The lawyer even wanted me to change the kids last name to mine. Just to be mean.

This went on for a few months. I tried to protest, but this lawyer insisted. Our court daye was coming up soon, and i just stopped going to our meetings. He was pissed. He sent me a nasty letter and all.

When the court date came, i stood there lawyerless and told the judge what i think is best for my son.

50/50. No child support. 50 percent legal. 50 percent physical.

It always KILLED me that that lawyer wanted so bad to crucify my ex, when all he wanted to do was see his son. Have rights to his son.

The judge agreed. My exs lawyer agreed and we wrote up a plan. The judge then proceeded to say how happy he was that my ex was fighting for his rights to our son. And that i was not fighting to keep my son from his father.

The judge implied he was not going to take eli from my ex anyway. And it turns out the lawyer i hired is known for being vicious. I should have done more research.

That is fighting for mens rights.

Look. If i see someone spouting off mis information online i say something.

Im banned from female dating strategy? Is that what you needed to hear.

I fight for good people. And i believe that we all deserve rights.

But, you have a problem. And im sad for you. No one on this sub will tell you, cus hive mind. But, you are filled with rage.

Do you have any stories like mine where you actually stood up for mens rights in the real world?

[–]incisive_shadow551 point 5 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I literally have zero rage. You asked for facts, I gave you facts and then you got offended and started personally attacking me and misrepresenting me.

Your personal story actually just proved my point.

I’m still waiting for you to show me ONE example of you going onto a feminist page and attacking a feminist in the same way you attacked me.

[–]melissarose0071 point 5 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Well first off, the judge was NOT going to remove any legal rights to my son, So that proves that the judge was not brainwashed by feminism.
It was the lawyer who was vicious. And not just towards men, but in all his cases, including cases where he worked with men against women. He was vicious to anyone.. regardless of sex, that also does not prove your point.

I told you i was banned from fds for pointing out their hatred. And also, quite a few Facebook bans, until i just deleted Facebook all together.

And after reading your comment history, i find that your comments on women bare a striking resemblance to the comments i saw, and spoke out against on fds.

Also, i made it clear, that the assumption i made on your anger towards women is based solely on your comment history. And how you have addressed me in this conversation. And i stand by the statement that i do not see the person you present on the internet as a viable representative for mens rights. Your comment history portrays you as an angry whiny person looking to blame a WHOLE gender for the mistakes of a few. And for the mistakes you have made.

Every day i teach my sons to advocate for themselves in a respectable manner. I teach them to hold themselves accountable for their actions and to hold others accountable for their actions as well. I teach them they can be heard without being angry. Something i dont think you have proven yourself capable of.

Again, what are you ACTIVELY doing to really be heard. To really make a difference? You never gave me your example for advocating.

Harbinging anger towards all women, and blaming a broken system sounds eerily like feminism...... and does nothing to forward your cause.

[–]incisive_shadow551 point 5 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Judges are not allowed to remove people’s legal rights. However there have been many cases where they have. There is no evidence the “vicious” lawyer behaved in this way towards women. There’s no financial incentive nor have you provided any proof.

What comment have I made to you that makes you suggest I’m spewing “hatred”? You’ve asked questions and I’ve given factual answers that you can’t refute. You just don’t like what I’m saying and as someone else has correctly pointed out you started to gaslight me.

Everything you have argued up until this point can not be proven. It’s quite likely you even fabricated your personal story in its entirety.

I don’t hold onto anger towards all women. Many women agree with me. In fact, actually listen to the women in the men’s rights movement. Their words are exactly the same as mine. You just don’t like the truth. It’s called the red pill for a reason. It causes cognitive dissonance as it goes against decades of programming in many cases.

No it’s not like feminism. We are the counter cultural movement against feminism. Most of us would rather there not even be a men’s rights movement. We don’t operate like a cult in the way feminism done.

What I do is raise awareness. I’m not going to give you specific examples as I’m not prepared to reveal my identity.

[–]melissarose0071 point 5 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

And that last statement solidifies my feelings on you as a person.

This debate is no longer worth my time. I really wish you the best.

Have the last word if you like. Or not. I dont care.

[–]incisive_shadow551 point 5 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

There's been no debate. You've totally failed to back up anything you've said and you've relied entirely on anecdotes which you most likely fabricated.

Provide one piece of evidence that you have attacked a feminist subreddit (or anything else similar) in the same manner in which you attacked me? I'm still waiting. I'm sure you can't because you've never done it.

And here's the thing you about you. On the surface you claim to be against feminism. I'm not surprised, feminism is absolutely indefensible and any rational person can see that. But there isn't much substance to your beliefs beyond that. You literally tried to claim that you are "for men's rights" because you didn't screw over your child's father. Err no, that's not being for men's rights. That's called being a normal person. You don't get a medal for being a normal human.

You need to realise how deep your indoctrination really is. I invite you to swallow the red pill. In fact, I dare you. And we'll show you over time how deep the rabbit hole really goes.

[–]incisive_shadow551 point 5 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

And I’m not bothered by groups like Female Dating Strategies. The stuff they push isn’t new and is just recycled from the days of “The Rules”

If those women want to follow that advice they’ll just end up with low value men who can’t stand up for themselves. In the long run they’ll end up miserable (just like all “The Rules” girls did).

I don’t cross paths with these women as they are being taught to screen out guys like me (who have self respect) anyway.

[+]YourPillsAintWorkin5 points 5 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

The old-as-fuck generation of judges are “chivalrous English gentlemen” who show deference to women. The younger generations of judges and lawyers are feminists who show bias in favor of women. Result is the same.

[–]incisive_shadow55 7 points8 points9 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Correct. The old gynocentric spectrum of traditionalism vs feminism. Both models benefitting women at the expense of men.

[–]incisive_shadow55 44 points45 points46 points 5 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

[–]googitygig 25 points26 points27 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

To add to this, most research these lawyers use as justification is also extremely biased as the social sciences are heavily dominated by women and feminist rhetoric has much sway.

BBC checklist to decide if this crime should be censored and not be reported:

Female criminal — check

Ethic minority — check

Muslim faith — check

False rape accusation — check

Male victim — check

Conclusion: By order of the Director General and the BBC Head of Diversity and Inclusion, this story is never to appear on any BBC television or radio station, nor on the BBC website.

Click here to check the BBC website for her name

Of course if it was the other way around, and the victim was a female, dark skinned, muslim barrister, then it would be front page news — especially if the perpetrator was white and male.

[–]Christooo 10 points11 points12 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

discretionary life sentence

From Lexis Nexis "A discretionary life sentence is a life sentence given to an offender in respect of an offence for which life imprisonment (or custody for life) is available but not fixed by law."

That's New York, I believe. It won't actually pass.

Basically, if it passes, you could go to jail if a woman sleeps with you because she thinks you're a doctor, but you're really an uber driver. Doesn't matter she's just being a ho and wants 0 responsibility for it.

'A career she wanted to forge in law that will no longer be possible given this conviction. She has tried to come to terms with it by seeking solace in her religion, she prays five times a day.

This is the most pathetic thing I've ever on the internet. And I thought I had seen it all.

A) If you're pursing a career in law then surely you should know right from wrong, due process and an understanding of how fucked up trying to falsely accuse someone else is.

B) She's just made the legal proceedings worse for victims of actual rape.

C) After being a shitty person (The guy is scum a well) and doing real harm in the real world she actually believes that talking to an insivible sky daddy 5 times a day makes everything magically right.

Four years should be JUST for the false accusation. She should get an even decade for all the other bullshit she tried to pull.

I’ve had a scorned ex threaten to cry rape and it scared the shite out of me. I hired a lawyer and filed several police reports, invested a lot of time, energy, and money into protecting myself from something I didn’t, would never do.

Rape should be taken seriously, and considerations should be made for victims as we’ve been slow to learn it’s a very difficult crime to report, but any women who has the gall to use a rape accusation as a weapon should be punished, not just for the men, but also to protect actual victims and the system that is supposed to help them.

10 years of jail time as a punitive seems disproportionate to me personally, but I believe women like this should have to register on a national database - it’s a much better solution IMO. She should be permanently labeled a rape-faker (or less offensive term, doesn’t matter), and that information should be available to the public. That’s how it should work with everyone.

I hope she gets the shit kicked out of her in jail. The true punishment, though, is not being able to get a job when she's released. Her parents probably boasted about having a lawyer for a daughter to their friends all the time, and she was probably proud of the status it granted her. Not even the most menial jobs will hire her now.

And of course there are people who can't say she's bad without saying her victim was bad. Heck, this commenter I just quoted sounds an awful lot like victim-blaming.

[–]MisfitAngel669 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I wouldn’t have even outted someone for cheating on their spouse. They have to live with themselves for that deception. A guilty conscious in this situation is punishment enough as far as I am concerned.

[+]Phoenix747hs -26 points-25 points-24 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Its not rape but the guy is still an ass for cheating and should be taken to court for adultery

[–]Aedrian87 24 points25 points26 points 5 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

That is up to the offended party(His wife) to decide, not the public, the state and especially not you.

I am not defending him for cheating, but if you want to legislate private affairs based on personal morals, soon enough you will have undone a lot of progress we as a society have made, and anything judged to be immoral by powerful people will become illegal again, and this can easily include gay marriage, interracial marriage and even the ability to say "No" on an arranged marriage.
