It's just unbelievable how Americans have come to think that this barbaric habit, just like female excision, is somehow normal or justified. No wonder that mutilating genitals has been normalized first in the US through all the trans nonsense, people were just already used to it.

Evolution tends to filter out anything useless over time. If we've got it, that's for a reason. As an intact, very old dude, have never had a UTI. In middle age, quit my job, the wife refused to even talk to me for nearly two years. I was glad of a foreskin, a natural roller bearing, helping me to win that particular war of attrition.

As they fought for dominance, Abrahimic religions wished foreskins removed, so that men would be made more dependent on women, and would go forth and multiply.

It depends on the style of cut and essentially how much loose skin is left.

There are men who end up with a tight cut style. When erect, their shaft skin is taut and can be painful and prone to tears. The scrotum skin and pubic skin may be pulled up along the shaft to compensate for the erection expanding it.

There are men who end up with a loose cut style. As opposed to tight cut men who require some form of artificial lubrication to facilitate comfortable stimulation, loose cut men have enough slack skin after erection to simply grip and move up and down. This frictionless movement is default for the intact penis, and the potential for how much the shaft skin can extend will depend on the extent of the excision of the foreskin.

The foreskin acts as a plug at the vaginal/anal entrance, to keep lubrication fluid inside, which then gets redistributed by the glans as it re-enters the vaginal/anal cavity.

A loose cut style may retain some of this functionality, but it cannot ever be as fully functionable as in its original form. A tight cut penis essentially acts like a piston with a flared out corona on the glans that scoops out lubrication with each outstroke and dries it out on the shaft.

There is another factor to consider: high vs low style of cuts.

A high style is a cut made further along the shaft, somewhere midway, leaving a lot of sensitive inner foreskin past the glans until the circumcision scar. The frenulum may also be kept mostly intact but will always depend on the surgeon’s performance and preference of circumcising. An exposed frenulum remnant may lead to premature ejaculation as it cannot modulate the stimulation the foreskin previously provided.

A low style tries to remove as much inner foreskin as possible, putting the shaft skin right up to the glans, to almost hide the circumcision scar under the corona. The frenulum and frenular delta are gone.

So, besides the retaining lubrication vs scooping it out to dry, a circumcised penis may be why a circumcised man may prefer a death grip to masturbate and stimulate his only remaining pleasurable part, the corpus cavernosum, through the meaty tissue of his glans and shaft. It may be why he cannot receive stimulations from nerves stolen from him at birth and he must resort to ever intensifying sexual fantasies to drum up mental stimulation. It may be why he must jackhammer as the only way to adequately stimulate his member with a vaginal/anal cavity that provides less grip than he is used to.

An intact penis can jackhammer, but for both partner’s sake, the shorter, gentler, gliding strokes keeps the mons pubis regions in contact more, stimulating the clitoris, as opposed to longer, rougher, rubbing strokes, pulling out lube and warmth, departing the pubis constantly, and madly slamming delicate tissue folds for a crumb of pleasure.

Some men would prefer to feel the touch sensation of their partner's delicate internal parts with all the Meissner's corpuscle nerves they were born with. (What are they? Run a fingernail across the back of your hand. Then run it across your palm. The difference in sensation is due to Meissner’s corpuscle nerves, which are found in the palm, fingertips, lips, and most concentrated in the ridged band and inner foreskin.)

Well, you can't change the past! Loss of sensitivity would be my biggest concern.

The foreskin protects and maintains the glans in a certain condition. This natural environment is lost through circumcision. There is a loss of sensitivity.

For example. I am an uncircumcised European male. If I pull my foreskin back (as if I were circumcised) and walk around like that clothed, it is so uncomfortable, due to the sensitivity of my glans, that I can't last a few minutes.

Yet, millions of men who are circumcised do this every day.

You can't change the past but if I were circumcised, I would moisturise my glans daily to improve sensitivity.

Apart from that, should a person have their body modified, without their consent. I think the answer is obvious.

Only when a person has the mental capacity to make that decision for themselves( you can only argue for medical necessity as a best interest decision). This goes in line with religion is a relationship you have with another entity that is consensual, otherwise it's a coercive abhorrent regime.
Ask yourself why would you want to cut off a piece of yourself when your own creator is supposed to have already made you in their perfect image? are you admitting that your creator made a mistake? in which case how could trust anything they claim in the name of religion?. plenty of muslims have already made this point( 2) when we decided we are NOT going to cut bits off, especially when you decide its ok to do it to boys but not to girls !!!

- keratinization - without the foreskins protection the glans dries, hardens and becomes numb. making most men get pleasure from their prostate only

- meatal stenosis - the peehole often closes up to a 'pinhole' size with out the protective covering of the foreskin, making it not possible to urinate everything out, feeling constantly need to pee.

- removes the 'gliding motion' so you cant masturbate or sex normally without being dependent on lube to prevent tearing

- amputates the most sensitive parts, 'male g spot' equivalent

- often loses size in length, since scar tissue and too tight of skin prevents natural erection

- extreme pain from this done to infants has proven to disrupt brain wiring related to stress etc and never returns back to normal

- extreme pain to infants can increase likelihood of autism

- had a higher chance of being killed by it being done as an infant then ever having an issue that requires it done throughout your entire life

Imagine if we removed the appendix in babies because it could possibly cause complications in the future. It would be deemed as invasive. The labia also increases your risk of UTI, indicated by this study: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32388633/
But we wouldn't even dare to suggest we should cut off the labias of baby girls. The only difference is one is considered taboo, and the other is not. Despite believing we are super progressive as a society we still hold onto discriminatory biases and old traditions. Doctors also have no interest in being honest about the subject because they make money off the procedure.

As for sensitivity, I can definitely tell my foreskin remnant is the most sensitive part of my penis. Especially my frenulum, or what is left. Which they pull down to the mid of your shaft. If you want to resensitize your glans there are synthetic options you can buy, and it does make a difference.

I am no man but from what I've heard/read, the act of circumcision obviously comes at its own risks within the procedure. There are a lot of risks, some more rare than others but there are many out there.

But the biggest thing that's more personal to men later in life is really just the loss of the foreskin of course. The foreskin is full of never endings and is known to be a huge erogenous area of the penis. So basically a loss of pleasure/feeling during whatever you do for pleasure.

Plus alot of pros to circumcision is more sensitivity which doesn't really make sense because the foreskin can move across the glans in the majority of cases. So that doesn't particularly make any sense, it's just like a lazier method?

American women seem to think its more attractive too so it takes that away I guess but again I mean if they really wanted that you could pull it back.

Research does seem to show less uti's as well as std's, which really is a bonus to circumcision assuming the dating is as accurate as can be which unless told I don't believe it isn't.

Foreskin is not hard to clean men in the UK do it with their eyes closed and they're all probably cleaner than me.

Honestly there's alot of pros and cons and you can go on and on. In my opinion when there's this much ambiguity on whether it's good or not, that choice shouldn't be taken away from a man. Neither should he be subject to peer pressure or bullying for it.

You can't change it but you can be thankful that you're not presented with the many issues it could have caused you and obviously you are less likely to catch certain STDs or infections or any other foreskin related issues like phimosis too. You're living in the many positives you can and I don't thinks there's any point in looking or longing back.

Also if circumcision is a religious right, then who is the religious right given to? The parents? Do they believe forcing children into their religion before even being able to comprehend anything said is a right the parents have? Also what do they declare a religious right and how far would they take it depending on the different odd interpretations a parent can present and force upon their child? Do they believe its a parents religious right to declare for their baby that they must not have a blood transfusion that could save their life because they are a Jehovah's witness? I'm sure there are many more odd things religion can force onto a child that we should never agree with or label the parents religious right.

*Edit: I would also like to add in that the supposed main advantage and doctor reasoning for circumcision is still very heavily debated and being tested and criticised when it's stated to have effects in reducing urinary tract infections, penile cancer, and sexually transmitted diseases. I want to thank the person who brought it up with me, as I don't wish to cause or spread misinformation.

Many researchers have included their own research to oppose the fact that there are any benefits as well as stating bias or missed situational factors within older studies that support these beliefs. For many of the "complications for intact men stated", these could easily be treated through education on how parents can clean their child and how that child can grow up to learn how to effectively clean themselves.

Id also like to explain how doctors in America are know to repeatedly hassle parents into circumcisions through repeat asking. And through being an authoritative figure over medical care, creates peer pressure for the parents and is illegal since this is done for profitable reasons and not medical.

This is what I'd say to a religious nut that supports genital mutilation of boys/girls.

There is NO religious right to harm a child.

Infact you could say in our inherent sacred laws, some of which have been forgotten... The oldest being that: the blood of the innocent shall not be defiled.

To mutilate a child's body... Especially their genitalia (wether a boy or a girl) IS an act of evil.

Our God, Our Creator would NEVER condone such harm of the innocent, and infact demands vengeance and justice against those who do.

You're approaching the issue wrongly. Our goal should be to understand and undermine the assumptions that permit this kind of thinking and behavior to begin with.

For example, blathering on about the uselessness of some body part or another does not justify you cutting said part off of someone else. Statements such as these are red herrings because those pushing them have no intention of taking them to their logical conclusions.

The "religious right" thing is also founded on a misconception. Your right to practice your religion cannot include harming others or violating their rights or else we'd have to apply the same standard to EVERYONE, including the first guy to found a religion on the claim that claim disemboweling those who promote genital mutilation is a religious right.

It's about knowing better and doing better for the next generation. Even if you yourself don't plan on having children there's still a moral obligation to speak up for those who can't for themselves. As for religion, if it would be wrong to force posthectomy on a healthy adult, taht shouldn't change in any of the life stages prior.

Outside of myself and my brother, I don't know anyone else uncut. I've had no issues and just see the whole thing pointless so it boils down to why do it in the first place. There are claims out there but you can also die of prostate cancer or a heart attack anyways so is it really worth it? I don't know what I have over someone but I find it functional. Both people are sharing themselves in a relationship so who cares.

I have no idea why I was cut as a child but my ex kept saying the same stuff as you guys and honestly I feel perfectly fine. I like it the way it is and would like it normal too. But honestly I feel a bit attacked, like, why does someone else would have an opinion on my body in the present? It's like having scars after being robbed, yeah it was wrong to be stabbed in the first place by someone taking your wallet but stop saying that scar is gross or something. We're people too.

What's done is done. Whatever the reason. I think this should be a decision taken by each person as an adult and not a baby, I agree with you all. But honestly just stop talking about this like we're freaks for being cut because you're no better than some radical feminists.

For whatever it's worth, I have a close relative who works in a surgery clinic. Apparently they see a high number (as in it's one of their most common procedures) of circumcisions. I had no idea there were that many grown men wanting to get circumcised and just thought it was mildly surprising. Apparently the most common reasons given are hygiene related.
