The patriarchy doesn't have a stable definition. It's not an oligarchy: under oligarchy everyone is oppressed, while under a patriarchy it's specifically women.

It's not capitalism: under capitalism womem control more money than men.

It's not democracy: under democracy women vote more than men.

It's not the legal system that is built to benefit men. Almost every sexist law in the modern West benefits women, not men.

It's not social pressure to follow gender stereotypes. Because feminists love gender stereotypes and hate "the patriarchy".

It's not prioritizing men's health and wellbeing over women's. And it's not valuing men's lives more than women's lives. Because if it was, those things would actually happen.

If it had a definition, feminists would have a concrete goal. They would know how close they are to achieving it. Also they would have to explain the connection between their actions and destroying "the patriarchy".

If "the patriarchy" had a definition, feminists could potentially defeat it. But defeating their enemy would mean ending their war. Without a war, there is no justification for any harm they do. Without an enemy, there is no one to blame for your own failures. Without a patriarchy, there is no need for discrimination.

I'm not saying the patriarchy doesn't necessarily exist. I'm also not saying that our universe wasn't necessarily created last Friday by a flying spaghetti monster.

I'm only saying, it doesn't matter what "the patriarchy" means and it doesn't matter if it exists at all. No one depends on it more than feminists.
