Left supports what that is labelled as a minority and what is trending. Palestine attacked Israel, left supported Israel, Israel attacked Palestine, left supported Palestine, a black man was killed, left supported BLM riots. Women are called a minority group so left supports feminism. LGBT becomes trending, lefts supports LGBT and now disregard women's sports in support of LGBT. They go with the side with victimhood complex to portray themselves as a resistance. They are not the resistance at all as government and media themselves back them. They are resistance to the people.

Because the left has a crusader complex that is all about championing the "victim". Their policies are almost entirely about feelings and not facts. Despite all evidence to the contrary, women are still seen as victims.

You'll find very few MRAs that don't believe in equality. You'll find very few feminists today that do. Feminism now is all about power and revenge.

Because like other political party the left will align itself with those that will give them votes. Feminists are doing a good job at rallying a big chunk of people and their demands are fought by Republicans so Democrates see an opportunity to gain more votes if they align themselves with feminists. To me it's the same reason Republicans align themselves with Christians.

It's just important to ha e a balance of both the left and the right but political parties are pushing people to believe going further right or further left is the way to go. Feminism also keeps pushing further with every new wave, will destroy itself in the long run and so does both the left and the right.

I think in order to better understand this topic, we have to define what is "the Left", because it's really several different groups lumped under the name for different reasons.

Classic Liberalism is a rare and precious thing in the West. It speaks to worker's rights, civil liberties, freedoms for all including freedom of speech, and an economic free market.

Classic liberals are few and far between in political representation in the US because the US has generally shifted farther and farther Right over time due to the persistence of religion influencing policy and poorly regulated capitalism.

I would argue that while Classic Liberalism is the foundation of and lumped in with "the Left", most classic liberals do not support "modern" Feminism as an openly biased identity movement. Egalitarians would always be welcome at the Classic Liberal table.

Neo-Liberals are what occupy the halls of the US political structure today. They're basically wearing the skin suits of Classic Liberals in order to gain personal power and influence through poorly regulated capitalism. The Right has many valid criticisms of Neo-Liberals in that they often virtue signal for causes to gain favor with the public rather than making actual liberal policy changes.

Neo-Liberals embrace feminisms for marketing purposes. Women vote more and women spend more, so naturally, Neo-Liberalism embraces anything that can make a buck off of people's hopes. The same is true for BLM, Neo-Liberals pay lip service to the black community without actually intending to make necessary changes in policy to address the group's issues.

Neo-Liberals and Classical Liberals are at odds with each other on economic policies, and the gradual loss of influence from US political thinkers of the Classical Liberal nature has caused the entire dialog in the US to shift Right, so dramatically so that European countries with strong social infrastructure are often mislabeled by the US media as "Socialist" countries.

It's important to recognize that any movement outside of Egalitarianism is going to be motivated by self-interest, Feminism's "core ideology" (if you could call it that) is that men and women should be treated as equals, which in itself is a very Egalitarian notion. The self-interest comes in by mobilizing in ways which directly help and elevate women first and foremost. Men's Rights aren't so different in this respect, as many men would like "their turn" at the civil rights table. The problem is that Neo-Liberals in the West are opportunists first and liberals second, and that capitalist engine is what's driving modern Feminism's popularity despite overwhelming evidence of the damage Female Supremacy has done our culture.

The main difference between "The Left" and "The Right" in the US, seems to be the degree of cynicism involved.

"The Left" still holds out hope and a message that the people can unite to improve society as a whole and give everyone better lives. This is not the goal of Neo-Liberals, but this is the message they use.

"The Right" on the other hand, literally seems to be waiting for the end of days instead of coming up with practical solutions to the country's problems. It's a media worry machine that preys on the fear and anger of an increasingly oppressed population. Perhaps the most remarkable thing is the "conservative" values claimed to be at play, while the party has no accountability. After decades of expanding corporate powers and eroding a healthy economy into a oligarchy, they continue to blame the left as if allowing marginalized people the same rights as the majority is to blame for Republicans voting against the minimum wage consistently for generations.

I think it's fairly safe to say there are Zealots and indoctrinated shills on both sides of the aisle. America's biggest problem at the moment is media control, misinformation, and marketed ignorance. We commoditized the news, amongst other essential public services, and the result is as with all privatization... lower quality, mass produced, shareholder influenced, garbage. That, is the real danger to society at large. Not having accurate information about the world around us.

If we don't critically analyze the inputs in our lives and where our opinions come from, we are puppets to a ruling class that thrives on controlling us.

I think there are a few different types of "feminist"

The teenage girl who needs to feel as though they "belong". It's a very easy thing to get invovled in
The extreme left, (woke people) - which can actually benefit men.. bear with me... it gives people license to break gender norms, if they so wish to.. but ofc is also very dangerous. Depends who you are
Men who think it'll make them attractive to women
People who are actually feminist.. and ofc within that, there are different types of feminism - liberal, radical, Marxist.

I'm uk. Only around 30% of people identity as feminist.

I don't think "the left" blindly support it. The uk "left" have rejected a lot of super left ideas

Usa "left' is pretty right winged compared to the uk. So people there go to extreme lengths (extreme left) to be opposed to it

The “left” supports feminism because it has been co-opted as a political alignment that focuses on social justice instead of economic justice. Ironically often bankrolled by big corporations.

The Left (or Old Left if we want to be precise) doesn’t really care about social justice to the same degree except in situations where it’s leading to economic abuse. The thing is the Old Left is regularly demonised and chastised by the “left” because they’re less interested in slutwalks and gender neutral bathrooms and more interested in growing income inequality.

It’s a situation that really favours the Neo liberal outlook; because it means there really is no opposition to their economic politics. The right favours them, the “left” favours them and both the right and the “left” attack the only groups that do oppose them. These people don’t honestly care whether it’s by men, women, enbies, straight, gay or otherwise, so long as they’re profiting that’s all they care about. As soon as something is profitable, they’re all over it. As soon as it isn’t, they leave it high and dry.

Because it serves their niche of "fighting for the oppressed". Don't forget that politics is a business and their customers are voters of a certain sensitivity.and ideology. They use tools like "feminism" to cater to their customers and get their vote. They support feminism because their sales pitch is written around marketing slurs like feminism and similar. It is convenient because it paints a "problem" a "fight" and an "enemy". Politicians love ideologies that allow them to point at a problem and an enemy (they paint themselves as the "fighters", thus, of utility to society). If the problem is unsolvable or invented, even better because that means they can milk it indefinitely.

This is of course a degeneration, an invention, a lie, a manipulation. And the people who believe in that, manipulated.

As another user said, the left supports woke identity politics in general. The Republican Party actually started out as the anti-slavery party and has typically been less into advantaging some people over others, so it makes sense feminist organizations would focus their lobbying efforts on liberal politicians and that these politicians pander to feminism to win their votes.

That said, liberals have traditionally supported feminism more, it doesn’t mean conservatives have been supporters of equal rights for men. Consider the Republican politicians who strongly opposed women equally registering with selective service. Even Trump signed some legislation favoring women over men such the Women in STEMs Act and Women’s Entrepreneurship Act (may not have those names white tight). Similarly, republicans could have blocked some of the anti-male legislation passed, but didn’t.

While liberals may pander to feminists more, neither party has proven a supporter of equal rights for men overall.

Seeing it from the outside, the left seems to be living in a version of the 1950s; and they're pushing back against those in power. Men. White people. Christians. Americans. Humans. The able-bodied. Since the left now has a stranglehold power in all spheres - media, schools, pop culture, public service, corporations - they're waging a campaign against what they see as the 'bad guys'.

They've declared all those people to be bigots against everybody else, and their solution is to bring about bigotry against them, instead of ending bigotry. Reversing the usual trends (which is not 'reverse bigotry', it's just bigotry; but to them, reversing the trends of bigotry is somehow the same as ending it).

Having never been to the actual 1950s myself, I can't vouch for what it was actually like for ordinary people in the day, least of all minorities. I can't trust, though, the media which constantly says everybody was willing to lynch on sight anybody who fit any single minority category. (I do believe that bigotry against them existed though, even that it was rife across the country at the time.)

They purposefully invaded the left. It is no accident. Feminists are essentially social marxists, and as such they invade spaces and take it over from within bit by bit. You can see this now with things like gaming, the atheism plus movement, liberal arts centered colleges, gyms, etc.

Unfortunately for the left, they are more susceptible than the right to this virus because of a thing called pathological altruism. The left is always trying to help those in need, and social marxists pretend that various groups, in this case women via feminism are in need of help. Why do they need help? Because men are oppressing them. So it is the way it is today because of manipulation by social marxists and pathological altruism from left wingers.

Because men are plain bad at presenting their cause (quality posts here are rare, most content is just incoherent rambling inside an echo chamber "women bad"), they often fall for obvious baits, and they often start picking fights with other groups (men support LGBT or not depending on whether it's useful at given moment or not).

Meanwhile women create more elaborate, united campaigns regarding their problems, support their causes using valid statistics and logical thinking (of course a lot of that is manipulated but that's a separate issue), and create more long-lasting alliances (like feminism and LGBT).

Women have been practicing social diplomacy for 200 years (beginnings of feminism), meanwhile men woke up literally ten years ago realizing that something is wrong. It's no wonder that all men's rights movements just suck.

The left is basically a cult at this point and what it supports is not based on rational thinking but only on the instructions sent down from the cult leader. Many people on the left probably only support feminism for that reason alone, if they were permitted to make their own choice on feminism without being shamed and ostracized for it they probably would turn against it.

As a left winger myself, I think politics and ideologies can sometimes intertwine a bit too tightly. I am economically left, but ideologically more centered as I think that neither side is 100% right. Because of how left-wing is more about doing it together they are usually more supportive of what they believe are minorities. Whereas the right is more like an FFA and very competitive. Because men are more competitive than women, feminism fits the left-wing narrative, view, and personality better.

Feminism engrained itself in the left back in the 30s when it was needed. And feminism kept leeching off of feminism until around 2015 where it fully asemulated itself

Leftists tend to be anti racist and anti sexist. In 2015 a lot of anti feminists started getting popular and a lot of them ended up being racist. They were mras as much as they were anti feminists and so there became a understanding that white men were the truest oppressors and so feminism got engrained into the left.

Because it’s 2023 and sexism, homophobia, racism and xenophobia still exists. There is so much evidence that it still exists. Unless you want to choose to be ignorant you cannot deny it. You definitely cannot deny that men have more rights in the states where abortion has been banned because it infringes upon the right to bodily autonomy. That is not an opinion it’s truth. Once any establishment/organization/government/religion has the ability to make a decision for women what to do with her body that is without a doubt taking away her right to the 14th amendment and thus making women in those states. This is beyond the argument of where you stand on abortion it has become a war on taking away constitutional rights.
