There is no sexual element to hugging unless the dude is rubbing his boner against you or makes a comment about your boobs feeling nice pressed against him (happened to me, creepy as fuck). Also, never hug a man in pajama pants. Just don't. Unless you want things to be sexual.

Sexual connotation is all in one's head. After all, in many countries people greet each other with cheek kisses and other such things. If you feel hugs are sexual, then they will be that to you. If you don't, they won't. It's all in one's head. Of course, you can only master your own view on such things.

Less subtle than unsubtle, at least when I and a hot chick are involved. I like to really get in there make that her-boob vs my-chest contact, while my hands go right for that ambiguous lower back to the top of the ass zone. I let a hug linger extra long too so the gal knows what's up.

I'm surprised how many people are saying there's nothing semi sexual about hugs. Women generally don't let men they don't like or are not validating them touch them.
