Some guys like blondes. Some guys like brunettes. It's not so different with girls. But just because there's no one perfect face or one perfect body doesn't mean there aren't absolutes.

For example, fit is always better than fat. Rich is always better than completely broke. Social skills are always better than social retardedness. And so on.

The fact that an individual woman's tastes regarding eye color or the shape of your face might vary from some other woman doesn't matter. Women fuck a variety of guys, just like guys fuck a variety of girls. If you're fit enough, successful enough, and social enough, it doesn't matter if you're 5'10" when she prefers 5'9", or if you're 185# when she prefers 182#, or if your jaw's a little more square-ish or a little more round-ish than her last boyfriend's, or if you have brown eyes and she thinks blue-eyed guys are her type.

There are guys who are unconventionally hot like Benedict Cucumber.

Some women like conventionally hot guys, some like unconventionally hot guys and some don't like either.

Both. If he's some celebrity sex symbol, individual women will argue all day long amongst themselves whether he's hot or not (we do it all the time on the IRC). That being said, "hotness" is in the eye of the beholder, which is especially true of women more than it is of men.

There are also all the other factors too, like the particular situation, when the meeting happens, all the guy's other attributes that go along with his face/body. Personality, clothes, conversation, smell etc...

I think you definitely get guys who most everyone will agree are very attractive. but for women, thinking someone is hot and wanting to jump his bones are two totally different things. I've known hot guys that I felt absolutely no chemistry toward. I still appreciated them as attractive human beings, but never wanted to bang them. I think dudes like Adrian Brody or Birchbark Cucumbersquash who are extremely attractive to some women would hypothetically (all things being equal) get laid more than an all-american guy who everyone agrees is handsome in a generic way.

Everyone has their own taste.

Conventional just means the type of person MOST would find the most attractive. If you round up a group of a 100 straight males and give them a lineup up women, there's going to always be one girl that gets the most votes. This is the conventional attractive.

But there's also some men in that room that couldn't be bothered with that girl. Same thing with men.

Attractiveness is objective and all cultures agree on what is attractive, even babies and animals. Also both men and women have preferences, for example girl A might like attractive blonde guys, and girl B might like attractive older big framed guys, girl C might like attractive 6 foot 3 guys.

Obviously not everyone can get an attractive version of their preference, and no one has a preference for ugly people.

Personally latinas are not my type, however that does not mean I find attractive latinas ugly, I still recognize they are attractive.

Also I'm really bad at explaining this concept but hopefully someone understands what I'm trying to say.

I don't think women like a great variety of men, the men that are considered conventionally attractive have certain features. The men you see out there getting a ton of pussy though don't have to be conventionally attractive to get it, they can make up for it with personality and status whereas a woman can only rely on her looks.

All that we "know" is that several studies using simplistic methodology tell us that men have one archetype and women have varied tastes.

It's like guys are Americans with what amounts to a two party system whereas women are like Canadians where the vote splits 5 ways.

Guys as a whole are more consistent with their expressed preferences but the fact is . . .we don't really give a shit. I've been with blondes, brunettes, red heads, big tits, little tits, 5-footers and 6-footers, blue eyes, green eyes, brown eyes, skinny chicks, buxom girls, pale skin, dark skin: if it all adds up to a good package, the away we go.

Even if you take just 5 factors - height, figure, breast size, hair colour and eye colour - and half of all guys agree on one choice out of 3 for each, that could means that half the guys agree on what is the perfect woman, or as little as 3% would agree if a cross correlation analysis is not performed.

The same applies to women except that you have a lower upper limit. Unless a cross correlation analysis is done we don't know if the "perfect" guy appeals to more women than the "perfect" woman appeals to men.

The other thing is to compare a first-past the post methodology where a single factor that gets the most upvotes is considered the "best" to a methodology that considers multiple factors until you can get a rough consensus - or at least a majority opinion - on what the most attractive combinations are.

Look at how the Olympic cities or Liberal Party leaders are chosen: whoever has the lowest votes gets knocked out and you vote again among the remainder. Or a preferential ballot where the lowest votes among number one choices are assigned to their number 2, and so on up the chain until one candidate has a majority of 1st, 2nd, 3rd or however many rounds it takes to figure that out.

In any event, there is no "perfect" man or woman which is why a lot of the manosphere will tell you there is no such thing as a "10", there are just 9s who have something extra that make that girl a 10 to some guys.

As to what is "conventional good looks", I would say a guy who a substantial majority of women would rate a 7 and virtually none would rate less than a 5. If large swaths of girls would rate him an 8 or 9, he is striking rather than conventional; if there is a lot of disagreement, particularly something like a bimodal distribution with a gap of 4 points, then that is not conventional either; and if at least half of women would not rate him a 6, then he doesn't have good looks, conventional or otherwise.

Same deal with women, the general traits are there. What makes him absolutely gorgeous depends if he has the normal masculine traits alongside a kink e.g. does he have certain hair, has he got a certain height etc.
