I mean, you do see it on the internet, particularly when it comes to certain websites, or certain subreddits in the case of this site.

By and large, it essentially looks to me like a cop-out in terms of arguing. A way to try and automatically shut down or invalidate something that someone's saying on the virtue of their being male alone.

I'll admit that there are men who will talk "down" to women. There are also women who talk down to men or engage in "femisplaining" or "womansplaining", in tandem with going on incessantly about how prevalent "mansplaining" is.

The problem is that it's become a default accusation, as I said. That means that it has no value as an accusation, as far as I'm concerned.

So I'm suffering from a lack of coffee right now. I'll edit this if it's not making too much sense, but I wanted to ask for people's opinions in general on the existence of this term and the abuse of it.
