It's a lame idea for a date early on, considering how few the first couple of dates ever turn into anything more. You're basically asking a guy to over-invest not only his money but also his time on meeting someone that most likely won't turn into much. Maybe 10 or 20 times before anything does.

It makes sense if the guy was already had it in mind to check out that restaurant, otherwise it's the sign of a lame ass woman who doesn't respect your time or money.

In my experience dinner dates get awkward fast if you figure out after the first 10 minutes you dob't like someone, because then your orders are already in and you're locked into a whole thing. Or if something happens and you want an out for some other reason.

Coffee is best. You can catch a movie or grab dinner after if you click, but you can leave immediatley if things go south.

Guys that complain about going to restaurants or similar, aren't guys who don't have disposable income. It's men who think that spending money on women is a waste, and are completely disconnected from valuing an experience with someone, over the numbers in their bank account.

I'm not financially challenged by any means, but I still find it repulsive. It's a show of narcissism, a nude desire for clout and social proof.

You think any of these cunts actually value fine dining? Of fucking course not, they don't have the prerequisite IQ. What they do enjoy is the image of themselves that it conveys: "I'm so hot that strangers will lavish me like a Disney Princess". I can count at least five ostentatious displays of the date's wealth in that photo.

I don't know who is a "coffee date queen" or where to find them, nor do I choose my dates based on that. If I really like a woman, I'm okay paying for a nice dinner. But if I just recently met a woman and there's just barely the beginning of a spark, and I ask to take her out and she immediately wants a $100 meal on my dime, no alternatives, then she absolutely is either a gold-digger or just has a sky high opinion of herself. I can afford to take her out, but why would I? I'm looking for a life partner, not arm candy that only sticks around when spoiled.

Besides, other women turn around and say that a dinner date is "too much" of a first date, that they want to test the waters in some place easy to leave and very public like a busy park or a coffee shop, instead of feeling trapped (physically, and also feeling like they "owe" something) in the corner of an Italian restaurant with a strange man, so men are in a situation where asking out a woman to something too nice is excessive pressure and proves I'm not considerate of her feelings, but asking out a woman to something not nice enough is proof I'm a cheap-skate who just wants to talk my way into sex (I don't, I hate casual sex) and proves I'm not considerate of her feelings.

So if we're talking just mentioning this on the dating app, the issue is the perceived expectation from this individual that if you want to even consider reaching first base you'd have to spend lavishly. This applies a perception of their personality and who they are as a person, which may be reprehensible and counter to what a guy would want from a potential partner.

Personally, I cannot be bothered if I'm not in that scenario. However, to apply myself personally, she would be one I'd likely skip.
